Staying in room 314, very large with all the comforts you would need. This room does not have a great view, though it looks down the roadway of the Petite area. It has the canal running right under the building and still has the equipment inside. Very friendly staff, great location, with loads of restaurants withing a few steps. This by far is the best location we have stayed in from Amsterdam, Antwerp and now here.

We arrived 15th April at 7.30pm and realised we had made and PAID for a reservation on 10th April (the day we booked) by mistake. A lady with no name badge and a young man on duty at reception. The lady engaged us first and then abruptly left to talk to other guests.
The young man took over our issue and started to help us make a new reservation for 15th. We understand that it was entirely our mistake and were perfectly willing to pay for a new reservation but the hotel failed to contact us when we did not show up on th 10th. I asked the young man if they could honour the rate that we booked with originally (only 22 euros less) as they were unlikey to sell the room again that night and he said he would make a call to check. At this point the older lady interrupted us in the most condescending tone you can imagine, talked to the young man in French so that we could not understand and told us "NO, this is the cheapest rate possible". Her dismissive behaviour and condescending tone of voice is what we object to more than anything else. We had planned to book dinner and breakfast at the hotel but after this awful interaction we were reluctant to spend another penny.

It is a shame because the hotel is beautiful, the location is great and every other member of staff we encountered was charming (Room 151)

Ok lets talk about the highlights first ...
1. Very helpful staff.
2. Beautiful location.
3. Spacious and good quality room.
4. Wonderful terrace bar on the river.

But it could have been better:
1. Bedroom no plug sockets near the bed or in the bathroom.
2. No mirror in the bedroom so how is a girl supposed to curl or straighten her hair?
3. Air conditioning didn't work so had to have windows wide open all the time as room was boiling.
4. Phone in room didn't work so had to call reception from my mobile.
5. Asked for iron and ironing board ...got given the cheapest basic non steam iron that struggled to iron anything!
6. Drinks and parking expensive.

There is a mirror storrey in each room.
Our air conditioning system is reversible. One time heat and one time cooler.
The iron board is on demand, however, we will add it on your profile for having it immediatly on your future stay.
After our technical's control, the phone worked.

The building nd position are great. Rooms are well furnished and bright. the staff seem to have no concern at all for what is going on around them. an unfortunate experience. we had a major problem raising a response to access the hotel in the first place and reception staff were blank and uncaring.

The hotel and location were perfect for what we expect. Clean room and good breakfast so we are sure to come back again.

Some staffs were not customer service oriented but this can be improved by the management.
