It could be a case of another European city another cathedral but Notre Dame de Strasbourg is well worth a visit.
Beautiful stain glass windows soaring up both sides of the cathedral and a massive rose. Some contemporary paintings along the side walls painted on wooden boards and a remarkable clock. The announcements to keep it quite was a classic and work...until the next tourist group came through the entrance. Travellers tip...get there early before the buses.

The single north tower and steeple rising from one side of the facade, give this Gothic masterpiece a distinct asymmetrical silhouette.
The inside is adorned with stained glass windows with portraits of medieval German emperors, a swallow's nest organ, a fantastic Rose Window and, of course, the soaring columns and vaulted ceiling.

It is a beautiful cathedral both inside and out. Don't miss the oldest astronomical clock in the world located inside as well. The stained glass idea astounding. You must remain quiet while visiting the church. Observe all the beauty outside as well. It's a massive structure. The gargoyles are interesting as well as the various statues.
