“Excellent stay”
Reviewed February 12, 2014

Clean, quiet and comfortable, this hotel is run by a well-trained staff that looked for every opportunity to make our stay pleasant. The location is terrific and the breakfast delicious. A perfect place to stay in Strasbourg.

The location is extremely good; walk across a cute and small bridge and you are next to the cathedral in the center of the old town. The hotel has an appearance of an old French/German building, but the inside is modern and very nice. An overall outstanding location and hotel if you are traveling to Strassbourg.

We were lucky enough to be upgraded, unprompted, so had a room overlooking the courtyard. The room was lovely and very quiet, the breakfast was great - we managed to have three or four courses each day! The staff were very friendly and unobtrusive. There is a 'turn down' service each evening and a little note is left of the likely weather for the next day, and a sweet each!

Arrived through torrential rain from Frankfurt to be greeted by an incredibly friendly bellhop who took care of our car (valet service for the car was €24 a night) and bags. Check in was smooth and we were guided to our room in the depths of the hotel through incredibly well appointed seating areas (included one with cobbled floors). Our room was incredibly comfortable with a fantastic bathroom (excellent shower over an over sized bathtub - the slate tiling and extremely sharp edges though, which made exiting the bath after showering slightly anxious... but I'm looking for something to criticize here). Location is phenomenal, just over the bridge from the Place de la Cathedral and an easy walk to the whole of the city center. With such a central location, the rooms were surprisingly quiet. Breakfast service was good considering the room was full both mornings we were there and the quality of food gave us a great start to our days there.

Room Tip: Avoid the 121/2 and 221/2 - just a long way from reception with no elevator and difficult to wheel b...

We were spending Christmas week in Paris and decided to take the two hour train ride to Strasbourg to see the Christmas markets. After reading the reviews on Trip Advisor, we reserved a room at Cour Du Corbeau for our one night stay. Absolutely the right choice. The hotel is a mix of old and new, Both charming and sophisticated and very comfortable. We were upgraded to a duplex suite with a porch overlooking the passageway into the hotel. The bathrooms were fabulous. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is ideally situated on the opposite side of the river from the main market areas which meant it was a quiet and peaceful stay in the midst of the huge crowds for the holiday.
If we ever find ourselves in Strasbourg again, we would not consider another property.

Room Tip: Our room was 202 which is a duplex suite. We didn't need the first floor but if you had three o...

In retrospect, I likely upgraded my rooms for more space, but I had two rooms booked for my family of five (two adults and two teenagers). I found the larger rooms comfortably slept three -- two in the king bed and one pull out. This was the case for two different rooms and two different grades of rooms: Suite w/ 2 beds and Junior Suite. The larger of the two essentially added space between the lounge area and the bedroom and perhaps had a larger bathroom.

I very much liked the concierge who was very helpful making dinner reservations and recommendations -- a service I am using more and more these days. The rooms were clean and both had higher roofs. The fashion of the place is very 1500's on the outside, but inside, all was modern and fine. The hairdryers were of poor quality -- so bring one along. There is no restaurant associated with the hotel, but there is a bar that appeared open regularly. There is a good spot for printing off boarding passes and the like.

Turndown service was very prompt and considerate. There were many services we did not use, but when we requested an iron, they were quick to bring one up.

Greeting service was the best I've seen. We were orientated to the town and our room and our bags were taken up easily by staff.

The location is excellent as it is just away from the cathedral crowd, but within quick reach of anything important. In all, I would stay here again without reservation. It is not a cheap hotel. There might be a better value out there, but the trade off is consistency and a predictable experience -- which is something I almost prefer over price.

Room Tip: Consider the Suite with Two Beds if you have no more than four (two parents and two kids who will sh...

The Cour Du Corbeau is a beautiful hotel set right in the heart of Strasbourg. The hotel has all the facilities of a top class hotel without having lost the character of the historic building. It has a beautiful courtyard, which as we visited last week was decorated for Christmas. The room was what you would expect of a luxury hotel as was the maid service. Breakfast choice was excellent. There is no restaurant, but this is not a problem as there are plenty of good quality eateries nearby. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The location couldn't be better, we took a taxis from the railway station, which took about 10 minutes and everything else was within walking distance. The cathedral was about a five minute walk and if you want a boat trip the pick up and drop off point is right opposite the hotel. The Christmas decorations in Strasbourg are fantastic and make it such a delight to visit. We would definitely go back to this hotel.

Room Tip: We had a room which looked out over the courtyard and had a balcony and we found it to be very quite...
