I can see why so many reviewers say this restaurant deserves a Michelin star! We really enjoyed the creative, delicious food and the relaxed elegance of the space. Everything we tried was wonderful, but my favorites were the tuna tartare and the veal entrecôte. The portions were the perfect size for us, and we appreciated that the desserts were light (we had the cheesecake and the leaves of chocolate with white chocolate mousse and berries). We often share an appetizer and a dessert, but we were happy this time that we ordered separately and got to try so many lovely dishes. The service was also excellent, in both English and French, and after dinner, it was a very short walk to go see the summer light show at the cathedral. The perfect evening!

The restaurant is absolutely worth trying if you visit Strasbourg. The food is very well prepared, delicious and beautifully served. The foie gras I had for a starter was of high quality and the tuna steak was delicate and juicy, not overcooked. My boyfriend had a steak, equally well prepared. Definitely upscale food but not too expensive at all. The staff was very welcoming, friendly and prompt. They don't seem to serve the local specialities but we had those already and prefer less heavy food.

Kobus is apparently a character from an Alsatian novel. Here it is a small restaurant with a warm understated decord, a hidden treasure of a menu in reasonable range. The food is excellent. I have a finger of foi gras. Steve has a “pizza” with fresh tomatoes gelee on top of a very crispy cracker with anchovy, iberico ham, and arugula with a gazpacho.
The main course for me was a rabbit stuffed with morilles and served with a reduction of creamed morilles. There was accompanied by carrot which were amazing (yes, this is possible! ) . My husband had black pork (shoulder) poele, served with squid, fresh artichoke hearts and accompanied by large polenta french fried , each one out of this world.

If this was not enough ,we share an order of cheese, ripe to perfection and a dessert to change the palate. This meal was really special. It deserves a star on the Michelin guide .. to compensate for all the stars that the Michelin guide gives and are not deserved.

Again selected the restaurant due to good online reviews. And it was a very good choice. Located in a easy side street close to main town area (but this is Strasbourg so it is usually within walking distance!), Kobus seemed small and cosy from the outside. We sat by the walkway so we didn't go into the restaurant. Do make reservations (did ours online) for they were one of the few places we saw turning people away. Service was prompt, efficient and the staff took care to explain the items on the French menu that we could not understand.

We had mains and dessert and it was all good. I had the lobster with risotto and my friend had the steak with truffle risotto which was divine. Dessert was petit fours and the deconstructed apple tart which was pleasant.

Prices were very reasonable for the quality and quantity and if we were in town again, we would definitely come back.

This restaurant is located on a very nice pedestrian street of the old part of Strasbourg.
Depending on the weather it is possible to eat outside which is a nice feature in the summer.
The menu is limited but its easy to find something for everybody.
The kitchen is creative, nicely presented and the service is very good.
Most dishes were good to excellent but one of our deserts was disappointing, especially compared to the others we tasted.
It is very close to a Michelin 1 Star level, but not yet there.
Nevertheless, all in all a very nice experience in the old part of Strasbourg.
