We were so pleased with our experience. This is a. very small intimate restaurant. It is decorated in typical Alsatian manner wit lots of wood paneling and a large mural with four women in traditional garb. The business is run by a small family. The choucroute was great and very satisfying, my wife had the chicken fricasee in a pastry shell which she liked very much. The beer and Riesling were just fine. The desert was a fantastic rhubarb tart with meringue.Altogether very good food and a very enjoyable evening.

I was brought there by a friend who works in Strasbourg and whose boss says that's the best winstub of Strasbourg.
The decoration is traditionnal and nice. Food and beer was just the same. The choucroute was delicous, with a great variety of different meats and charcuterie. Other dishes we've tried were also very good (for ex. the brioche stuffed with meat and foie gras!) and lavish!

one of the best meals I have had. The pate de foie gras was mind bendingly amazing. My wife and I split a 1/2 order of this and then regretted that we only got a 1/2 order. We also had a fantastic chicken in riesling.

This restaurant is the perfect answer to those who want a taste of traditional Alsatian food, which has a strong German influence. The restaurant is small and very friendly with a good understanding of good solid hearty fare in enormous servings. The traditional sauerkraut and sausages (choucroute) is excellent, as were the cheese dumplings which we ordered. The choucroute came with a generous (think small mountain) serve of sauerkraut, tasty homemade sausages and pork. The dumplings were light, tasty and very filling. The restaurant design alone is worth the visit with its rustic charm. The staff are friendly with a very good sense of humour. It is well worth visit to get sense of traditional Alsatian fare.

This little gem was recommended by our hotel down the street when we asked for typical local food in a region famous for its culinary delights. The restaurant is a cosy family run place with lots of wood, hanging pots, and a huge painting of women in the colorful regional folk costume. Even the children were helping out. The food however was the highlight.
Each of our dinners came to the table in separate family style serving dishes. My coq au vin was in its own rustic copper cooking pot and other dishes were served on hand painted pottery. The food was very delicious, however we must give you, the reader, one warning. The portions of each dish were enough to serve 2 adults (and 1 child) each, so that alas I am afraid that much wonderful food went to waste. Since the place was packed, and most seemed to be locals however, perhaps much was sent home with other patrons.
