Great value for money, an atmospheric place, felt like a local staying here. The optional breakfast was well worth the 7 euro. The farmhouse style breakfast room and the local cheese with fresh Pinot Blanc grape juice was to die for. I'd stay here again without hesitation.

What a lovely place to stay as part of our honeymoon in France! Colmar is such a beautiful place and we only wish we'd been able to stay longer than a night. We loved that Maison Martin Jund is an old winery still working today! Location was great with the old town only a short walk away. Our room, which we only paid 37 euros for was quaint and had everything we needed for a night stay! The bed was super comfy too! The owners are lovely and very friendly. We paid extra for breakie and we thoroughly enjoyed it! We look forward to coming back to Colmar and will be staying here again!

Maison Martin Jund is beautifully located in the old town section of Colmar. It is some distance from the rail station - a 20 to 30 minute level walk but ideally located for exploring Colmar's heart. Also, if you want to access the route de vins by bus (Line 106), the stop at Place Scheurer- Kestner is only a 10 minute walk. The Maison was built 410 years ago and should be good for the same again. We chose the balcony apartment at 70€ a night and considered this good value as it had a good kitchen and a very nice shower in the bathroom. The building is in quiet area and highly secure with a digicoded entry gate and another digicoded entry to the stairs to the apartments. The kitchen has an induction coil cooktop and a fan-forced electric oven but no toaster (though the griller toasts very well). Also lacking is a decent sized breadboard and cutting knives (especially a bread knife). If you don't want to cook the nearby Petit Schlossberg serves reasonable food in a pleasant atmosphere or you can buy fresh, chilled meals at Tempe in the Rue des Clefs. A major plus is that you can taste and buy the Maison's own wines. We thought that the 2012 Pinot Noir was a great example of the red wines of Alsace. The only reason for not giving five stars was that we felt that our reception and departure lacked warmth.

My experience with Maison Jund was better than very good, so I will give it an excellent rating. I enjoy looking back on my stay and would stay there again.

It is hard to get a sense of it from reading on-line reviews and even seeing pictures. If considering amenities and services, it is safe to say that it is not strictly on the model of a tourist bed and breakfast or hotel. Rather, it is a working winery that has rooms that can accommodate guests (and they do serve breakfast). And that's what I liked best about staying there: it was a way to stay in Colmar and get a sense of everyday life there.

Its location is in the heart of Colmar. It's on the rue d'Ange tucked away just of a main street. So, when exploring Colmar, it gives one a sense of what it is like to live there. It's within walking distance to the Musee Unterlinden and the historic quarters of the city. The train station is also within walking distance if traveling lightly and not carrying heavy baggage. And the buildilng on the outside is possibly even more charming than the photos show.

The rooms are basic, but the accommodations are comfortable enough, and not to mention affordable. I stayed in a spacious room on the top floor, with a nice table, refrigerator and equipped kitchen. So, that of course encouraged me to go out and get a Kuglehopf (Alsatian apple cake) and to buy my own groceries, etc.

What I enjoyed most about my stay was that it was just very calm and relaxed. The family was very accommodating about my travel plans. They were patient when I had to change them. I had absolutely no problems, and thank them again for their kindness. I would stay at Maison Jund again if I'm ever back in Colmar, or would even consider going back just because I know there's a nice, quiet and affordable place to stay there. Merci family Jund!

Spent one night here and it felt more like a college dorm than a b&b or inn. We were told(via email) which room we had for the night. The room we were given was not the one we were promised. The pictures of Chamber Mansardee show a very nice shower in the bathroom--our shower was a dark box that wobbled as we showered. There must be two rooms with this name because the room also was completely different. Disappointed when promised one room and given another. We could not complain because the keys were left for us and we did not see the owners.
The situation of the stairs was an issue for us with baggage. We travel light and even for us the number of staircases(inside and out) was a bit much to navigate. The stairs can be narrow and the treads shallow. Be careful. We also did not care for the fact that our room had only a small skylight and that we were at the end of a narrow hallway. Concern for fire safety/escape crossed our minds.
Truth be told, we only stayed here because the lovely place we stayed at previous nights was closing for the holidays. Although this place is priced very low, there are many other much nicer places to stay in Colmar. Not impressed.

As per other reviews, it's friendly, homey, quirky, and in a great location. A great bargain! Don't expect the Ritz, of course, but this is really a gem. The whole place smells like wine. It has some cool retro decor. And the breakfasts are great.

The Maison Martin Jund is like nowhere we've ever stayed. The building itself is like something out of a storybook (like most of Colmar). We stayed in the balcony chamber, a comfortable room with a good amount of space, a small kitchen, and a funny little bathroom. Since we were there over the holidays, we never got a chance to visit the winery, but we did buy some of their wines at the Christmas markets and they were wonderful. We also loved the big white dog who greeted us each time we went in or out.

The hotel is rambling, with rooms tucked in every imaginable corner - don't stay here if you have mobility problems or a lot of luggage.

We would have given this place four stars based on the affordable price alone. However, while the family is helpful and pleasant, it's not really a full-service hotel (you're at the mercy of the family's schedule and the rooms aren't serviced during your stay). We had breakfast one morning, and although the price was good, there are so many good bakeries and cafes nearby, it's a better choice to venture out or prepare breakfast in your room if you have a kitchenette.

For the price, though, you can't beat it, and Maison Martin Jund is a perfect option for those on a budget.

Room Tip: Get a clear answer about how many stairs are involved if you are concerned about mobility.
