We did not stay here, but as the previous person commented, the l'Auberge' Brasserie is fabulous, the real deal. We were expecting a bit of stuffiness, but quelle suprise! Staff here were great: warm, welcoming, and efficient. They went out of their way to go above and beyond with some of my wife's needs. We loved our meal here and relaxed as nowhere else in this town. This is why we travel. I am done. the end.

Spent 2 nights here and we did choose for ease of access by car. Get concerned when hotels are located in "old towns" and parking and locating them via pedestrian streets and cobbled lanes is a challenge.
Everything about this hotel fits with what you would expect from a major chain hotel including friendly and efficient staff.
We chose to park outside on the streetand feed the parking meter as it was free from 7pm through to 9am and we would be in the car through the day. There seemed to always be available spaces.
Our room was a superior double. As we booked last minute that was what was available. Clean and comfortable though you could hear the trains go by as we were opposite the railway station. Fortunately their were not many through the night so we slept well.
Ate twice at the brasserie and it was so good we couldn't justify paying for a full breakfast and not feel like eating much.
Only negative was the WiFi. They advertise high speed throughout and it definitely was not. Got so frustrated at one stage I did a speed test and only read .1 of a megabyte. Plenty of signal but poor speed.

We were travelling back home from Italy to UK by train and had a one night stopover in Colmar.

The Bristol wad a perfect location, right opposite the railway station , and within an easy 15 minute walk to the beautiful town of Colmar.

Our room was small but perfect. The most comfortable bed we had slept in all holiday, and a spotlessly clean bathroom. The real highlight was our evening meal in the hotel's Auberge restaurant. What a beautiful restaurant it is with superb food.

A perfect stopover

Stayed here for 4 nights. Arrived late in the evening and had fast, efficient check in- no need to fill in any forms or even show ID. Our room was on 3rd floor, a bit too small and outdated for 130 euro/ night without breakfast in a hotel next to the train station.
The room had a strange layout- a tiny hall with bathroom on one side and WC on the other, then the actual room, just big enough to fit the double bed (but with two single mattresses and duvets, not what you expect when booking a double room) and some furniture. The room was made even smaller by a glass door opening into it, a total nuisance at all times- it didn't close properly, when open took up half the space and made access to wardrobe tricky and didn't seem to serve any purpose as you could still hear the noises from the corridor. The soundproofing between rooms is not very good, you can hear your neighbours if they're of a more vivacious nature.
But overall was comfortable enough, clean enough, there was a small hot drinks tray, TV (but little to watch in English)- the usual in a chain hotel, impersonal and characterless for such a beautiful town.
However, centre of town is within walking distance and it's convenient for travel with the train station and buses across the road, as well as a bike rental shop with very reasonable rates (but busy). It has a Michelin star restaurant and as a brasserie that serves food from 10 am. There is another cafe nearby but we didn't try it.
Overall, a little disappointing and expectation raised too high after reading some of the other reviews. Maybe when booking on the internet you don't get one of their better rooms...

This has all the appearances of the old fashioned "Railway Hotel"on the outside, but it's not on the inside. Situated opposite the railway station, and a short walk to the old town. Great to be warmly welcomed on arrival, and overall the staff are very friendly. Bedroom was good size, and there was a wide range of choice for breakfast.

I stayed here with my wife, 2 year old daughter, and Labrador. Everybody was very friendly and treated us great. The location was good, about 10 minutes from the historic part of town. If you are traveling by train to Colmar and staying at this Hotel, you will only need to cross the street to get to the hotel.

We booked a triple room and it was very spacious with plenty of room for my husband, my mother-in-law, our 2 year-old (in a travel cot), and me. The staff was friendly and the room was clean. The hotel is very well located if you're using the train. The air conditioner was a bit weak. The breakfast was very expensive, so we walked across the street to the train station to get pastries for breakfast.
