“Nice food, but not so cheap”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 19, 2014

Le theatre is a nice restaurant. The food is nice but it's quite expensive in my opinion, but worth it. the scene is that of a theatre as the name suggests and is really beautiful. On Thursdays there is always something special. The last time I was there it was a magician with a horde of Magical Tricks with Cards and coins. The food is nice and a lot of typical French food, and at least you don't have to choose among 25 meals. The "Crème Brulee" is exquisite and they have a menu in French, German and English. Their website is updated and has all the necessary details.
it's the ideal place for a threat with business friends and colleagues, but then you have to reserve.. if not you can get difficulties getting a seat. The owners also serve and are nice people, the staff speaks English and French and they are good and Jovial people. The "Choukroute" is nice and well made. I love that place. They have a lot of wine and beer available for choice.

“Nice restaurant, diappointing food.”

Service was good, and menu in English also helpful. Salads, including 'Theatre Salad' entree was very nice. However mains, Entrecote Marchard de Vin (steak in red wine sauce) €24, and Escalope de Veau Viennose (veal ) €20 were very disappointing. Steak was around 50% fat/inedible and veal was little more than a pan fried slice with little taste. Huge bowl of french fries just cheapened the meal. May be worth a visit for an Alsatian food experience based on other reviews, but your experience will depend on what you order.

“Nice alsatian meal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2013

We went to this restaurant as recommended by local people in Colmar. We tried the speciality of the restaurant, nice Alsatian meal, dessert and wine. The staff who served us can speak English and was friendly too. It's worth a visit when in Colmar.

“Believe the better scores and not the poorer ones!”

Found this restaurant after walking a little way from my hotel. Reasonably busy for a Tuesday night. Service was welcoming, friendly and efficient. English speaking staff and English menu produced when my rusty French was noticed. Brasserie style with a nice atmosphere, candles etc. Food was fine - local wine, a good platter of local ham for Euros 6 and squid in a creamy sauce with rice. Overall good value, pleasant experience and I would go back without hesitation.

“Atmospheric, delicious food, reasonable price”

Please don't go by the picture at the top of this Tripadvisor section. This brasserie is wonderfully decorated. Full of atmosphere. The best service we had in Colmar. Food delicious and not silly prices.
