“Convenient Hotel for exploring Alsace”
Reviewed September 16, 2013

Stayed at the hotel to commute to an event in Saint Marie-aux-mines which was about a 45 minute drive. Hotel obviously newly refurbished given the newness of the room. The rooms were on the small side, but acceptable for a weekend stay. Shower only (no bath) with no door given the space restrictions but all modern fittings. Good breakfast buffet for 10 Euro and room rate reasonable at Euro 75. Located at the end of a retail park just off the motorway but convenient for Colmar (10 minute drive but parking a little difficult in the evening). A bit odd to find the first time - you can't miss the Statue of Liberty on the roundabout but you need to exit straight after.

when i was looking for a place to stay with my wife in Colmar, every hotel looked either expensive or not good enough. So, after a bit of research, we finally booked our 2 nights stay in this hotel which may be 10 minute drive out of the town but its prices was decent, and what it offered better than other hotels in town.

it is modern with designed colorful and clean rooms which also are equipped with a nespresso machine with two free capsules. the breakfast is good and the entire hotel is a non smoking place. the price was something like 95 euros per night including breakfast and parking.

next to the hotel there is a french well known chain restaurant which is not cheap but if you are hungry and you cannot be bothered to drive to the city center it offers a good alternative.

be careful not to make the mistake and book your stay in the hotel next to the Soleil prestige called Soleil. without the "prestige" at the end. this is a totally different one, and believe me, you dont want to stay there.

so, overall, this is great value for money business hotel, with the drawback of location. (except if you want to visit the expedition center which is really around the corner, 3 minutes drive)

Room Tip: be careful not to make the mistake and book your stay in the hotel next to the Soleil prestige calle...

We stayed god 2 nights and were extremely impressed with this hotel regarding cleanliness, service & position fog touring Alsace wine route.

Their wifi connection must continually be refreshed / and this sole defect would really make us forego another stay at this hotel.

Had to return early from a trip in Italy and found this hotel on the net - always try and get somewhere not to far from motorway and this was ideal - from experience many of the French hotel chains are in a semi industrial zone.
After booking was worried that hotel did not have a restaurant - not to worry as one next door.

Very modern hotel will all mod cons - the too trendy shower was difficult to opperate with wet / soapy hands - trouble with getting old.

Supper breakfast, plenty of hot food and vast buffet

We stayed in August 2013 for 2 nights with a group of friends. The hotel is lovely, we liked everything including nicely designed rooms, super comfortable beds, spacious bathrooms with cool shower, tasty breakfast and friendly stuff. The only negative thing about this hotel is location - it's quite outside of Colmar city center. It takes about 10min and 15 EUR to get to city center by car.

We enjoyed our night here. It was everything the other reviews have said. Comfy room, good internet, nice appointments. The lobby and dining area are very nice. Staff was helpful. There is a supermarket not too far, and downtown is also not too far. A good place to stay while visiting Colmar.

We spent three nights at Roi Soleil Prestige in July. The hotel was lovely, very clean and comfortable and the aircon, in our room as well as public areas, was very welcome as it was very hot when we visited. The breakfasts were excellent with lots of choice. Our room was extremely comfortable, beautifully decorated with a lovely bathroom and superb shower.

The hotel was situated on a business park about a 10-15 minute drive into Colmar, depending on traffic, but little or no public transport available. There was only one restaurant (next to the hotel) if you didn't want to drive into Colmar to eat.

The only "grumble" we had was with one of the receptionists - we had problems with the internet one day and when we asked the receptionist on duty about it she said that there was nothing wrong with it and no-one else had experienced difficulties. On returning to the hotel in the evening, notices had been put up in reception and by the lifts apologising for the fact that the internet had been down all day and they wouldn't be able to get it up and running until the Monday!

That said, we would recommend this hotel and would certainly stay here again.
