“An Unexpected Gem”
Reviewed May 29, 2014

Lovely small restaurant that specializes in fresh food and the food was excellent. We enjoyed our Saturday night dinner there under the outside awing and complete with live music. We had bumped into one of the owners earlier the day before and booked a reservation based on our conversation with him. The restaurant has a young and energetic feel while offering interesting, contemporary, and fresh cooking. We did not find the service slow and they were very busy. Rather we found it a great place to relax outside and decompress after a day of wandering the sites and streets of Colmar. We would go back again and we both recommend it.

“Wonderful restaurant tucked away...”
Reviewed May 26, 2014

This place doesn't look like much on the outside, but after making your way back through the corridor you will be surprised by a beautiful restaurant and garden area. The owner of the restaurant serves there and was more than accommodating (he allowed us to change our reservation the day of and even let us come in ahead of time and pick the table we wanted to sit at). The food was very inventive and well-prepared. The staff worked hard to make sure we received everything we needed! It was a lovely evening!

“Great find in Colmar”
Reviewed May 14, 2014

Found this restaurant quite by chance...what a great find :) The interior is small, but there is also a covered courtyard at the back. The food was very fresh and tasted delicious. Less choice towards the end of lunch. Go early. Good prices. Server was very pleasant. Pace of serving was quite slow - but French! It allows for enjoyment of the food.

“My best choice in Colmar”
Reviewed May 7, 2014

It was a wet public holiday with no meseums open so as the clock chimed 12 it was time for both shelter and lunch. In these circumstances l'Arpege had the advantage of being able to look at the exterior menu under cover in the passage way leading to the restaurant, and I did not want "traditional" Alsacian food. However, it turned out that serendipidy was kind to me. The food was very good both in relation to its cooking and service, although I feel that extending the habit of drizzling balsamic vinegar to the edge of the plate under a bowl of soup is a drizzle too far. By 1 oclock the restaurant was quite full with several family groups.

“A real pleasure after a day in Colmar”
Reviewed April 20, 2014

I've been to the Restaurant L'Arpege after a long walk around the city in a beautiful sunny evening.
We actually run into the restaurant by chance since it is kind of secluded in a small court. The goat cheese we had among the others on our appetisers plate was outstanding. Main courses were also very good. Simple and good. A big attention is given by the extensive use of organic food.
