Visited Kro recently and enjoyed three main courses and sides for under £30.
Two burgers and a pork schnitzel burger all with chunky chips and onion rings.
Hot fresh good quality products used.
Also they have an offer at the moment where a bottle of white wine is just £9.95... a lovely sauvignon delicious!

We booked this place as we were looking for a non-chain restaurant that had a good set menu option. We chose this place as they offered a 3 course for £32 with a bottle of wine. Given the price we weren't expecting fantastic food but we were still disappointed. Our calamari starter was stone cold, with warm calamari in a cold sauce. We both had to send these back to be changed. When our mains arrived, neither was very good. My partners lemon sole was very dry and tasteless and my main of stuffed chicken on a bed of mash and black pudding was no better. The black pudding was cubed and mixed into the mash but tasted like I was eating wooden die. It was burnt or at the least overlooked and chewy. What made it worse was the complete overkill of peppercorns in the peppercorn sauce. It was so strong that it began to burn my mouth/ throat.

The waitress did offer to take 50% off the bill which turned into 25% when we actually got the bill. We complained and it was eventually sorted. One final point, don't go there if it windy, the doors don't close when someone walks in so we got an arctic blast every few minutes.

The only saving grace was the good service and pleasant waitresses.

I have nothing bad to say at all. Great food, great service. Even arrived very late as the chef was about to finish and he let us order. I would recommend it to everyone.

We ate here with our son and daughter in law and were all happy with our food. We had the Danish meat platter and also the fish platter shared between two of us as a main, both were happy with the good selection of food on the plates, and one of us had the fish and chips (large portion of fish and the chunky chips were gorgeous) and one of us had the spiced aubergine tagine. Service was efficient. There was a lot of choice on the menu of different starters, mains and sandwiches with a lot of Danish specialities. We would go back again to try something else on the menu.

Well situated in Piccadilly Gardens, quite an interesting menu as it has some Danish specialities. The menu also has quite a large variety of dishes from soups and sandwiches to pastas and burgers.
The reason I cannot rate this restaurant/bar as 'good' is because:
-the serving staff seemed a little disinterested
-the table we were sitting at had not been cleaned since the last guest and was quite dirty
-the serving staff were not aware of what they had in stock (i.e. coming back after ordering saying x and x weren't available etc), what the soup of the day was etc.
-the food was ok but not great
However, it is possible that these issues are because we were sitting more in the bar area on the left as you come in, so perhaps it may be better sitting elsewhere.
