We dined at your restaurant on 14th June 2013 and found the fish and chips to be of a very poor standard and the fish heavily battered and hard. We ate at the chop house many years ago and stopped following a poor meal. We did not expect the same thing to happen yet again. Compliuments to the staff who were very pleasant and professional

I have eaten at this restaurant on numerous occasions and each time the food has been wonderful. From the fish and chips to the restaurant style corned beef hash to the steak pie. I have actually gone through the menu in my time and the food is always 100%.

The draft beer in the adjoining traditional pub is also excellent as are both the restaurant and bar staff.

Called here last week after a great Thai meal next door. I used to visit Sam's back in the 70's through to the late 90's when I worked in Manchester. Still a classic traditional Pub. It has changed little over the years. One big difference is a bronze statue of Lowry sat at the bar. Sit next to him, it is quite eerie. Will return and make sure you call in when in Manchester.

We visited last night and have to say that every mouthful of food we ate was delicious!

Corned beef hash cake was so moreish that I could have eaten more. That's not to say that the portions are small, just that the food was so delicious. My husband had the Menai Straits mussels in cider and he mopped up the delicious sauce with tasty bread.

I opted for the cheese and onion pie for mains, served with chips and home-made baked beans - fabulous! Hubby had steak and kidney pud, which was packed full of meat. He failed to eat it all (!) but commented how delicious it tasted. The chef obviously knows what he is doing. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Tasty, unpretentious food, served in a fabulous atmosphere...ticks all the boxes really.

Would we return to Sam's? Undoubtedly yes! Great value for money.
