This is a lovely restaurant right in middle of Manchester.
Serves good ,tasty ,authentic ITALIAN food and for me having good Italian waiting staff makes the positive difference.
As its smaller than some of the other good Italian places it for me makes for the more intimate place for both couples and business .

Dined at piccolinos restaurant in Manchester on a Saturday with 2 friends. Went in the restaurant about 7.30 and we were put on a table about 2 yards away from the revolving door. My husband sitting nearest the door was soon melting under the heater which was blowing hot air down from above the door which was obviously trying to combat the terrific draft that was coming through the door. After watching the staff keep closing the door for about 5 minutes we asked to be moved and in all fairness to them we were moved almost immediately. We have eaten here several times already in the past but were so disappointed this time. The starters were very small for the price and my husbands main course of spicy sausage on lentils was very undercooked and the lentils very dry. we felt £18 .00 for this dish was very expensive. The waiter however was excellent and he was very attentive however we will not be frequenting this restaurant again.

“Piccolino, Manchester City Centre”

Pros: Warming, left to enjoy our time there, good atmosphere, never thought this would be noted, but really unique toilet layout!
Cons: Not many to think of, food was filling and portions were maybe slightly too much but not an issue.

We set out wanting to dine at a good quality restaurant, and came across Piccolino, from first impressions the restaurant looked professional and appealing, prices looked fine. We got shown to our table efficiently and our waiter was really helpful and understanding in terms of wine choices.
After our meals arrived we were left to enjoy our experience which for us is a big plus, our food tasted great but the one problem was that the Trofiette didn't have any pine nuts in, but tasted okay.
The toilets are cubicles with the soap dispensers and hand driers in each one, colouring is red and black interior with leather chairs opposite, kinda cool :)
Overall our experience was really good and we left the restaurant feeling happy with our choice, would recommend Piccolino to others and wouldn't hesitate visiting here again.

Quite simply, the best food in the city centre, with the friendliest service you will find.
We have been regular visitors here for a number of years and every staff member leaves you feeling extremely welcome to the restaurant.

“Piccolino - Manchester City Centre”

I dined here with my mum yesterday evening at around 5.15. We were the only ones in the restaurant so didn't have any problems with being too close to the next table etc and didn't think that the tables were so close that you would feel claustrophobic anyway. We had a lovely view of the town hall.
We were seated promptly and the waiter took our coats. He brought us the main, drinks and specials menus and some garlic bread and took our drinks order, Monday night so we just had water, and left us to decide.
I had the Spiedini di pesce, 3 large skewers of big king prawns, scallops and chunks of swordfish marinated in lemon, chilli, garlic and fennel. It was absolutely delicious. The waiter said they don't come with any accompaniments so I ordered a side salad too but I thought the portion was quite large and I struggled to finish it.
My mum got the Linguine ai gamberoni, which she said was delicious but she would have preferred with a sauce.
I noticed that they have a really good selection of spirits, liquers and prosecco cocktails. They are part of the same group of Restaurant Bar & Grill, Zinc and Bank and do a loyalty card for the group, which if you eat out a lot is a nice bonus.
