“Great steaks”

Went for Xmas treat - good service and food. One or two flaws but well worth the visit. Bill for 4 was not as pricey as I was expecting.

“Steaks at their very best”
Reviewed December 19, 2012

Great location with great atmosphere and service inside, offering an unbeatable range of steaks and wines but you will pay top dollar for the privilege of eating in a super restaurant. The mood lighting does make the menus difficult to read so you might miss the section on house wines, the house Malbec was excellent.

“Meat to remember!”
Reviewed December 17, 2012

We were keen on trying Gaucho after reading all the great reviews, but we were also concerned about the occasional bad reviews, so we went (my wife and I) with a bit of apprehension. The first impression wasn't the best, the place has an unusual decor which although interesting didn't impress us much. The place is kept at a dim lighting, but doesn't make it romantic since the place is huge. Regardless, all that is secondary once the culinary experience begins. First, our server Jane, took her time to explain to us the different cuts of meat. I knew what I wanted, the most tender cut, the Bife de Lomo (Filet). My wife chose the lamb. But first we started with the Ceviche sampler. We are ceviche lovers, and although the sampler had some unusual combinations it didn't disappoint, it was delicious! Then the meats came and there is only one word to describe it, excellent. Specially the Bife de Lomo (ordered raw), I can't recall the last time I had such a tender, juicy and tasteful piece of meat. Extraordinary. The only negative was the chips on the side (as someone else already mentioned) they don't do justice to the meat. But not to worry, Jane noticed that my wife barely touched the side so after enquiring she offered to take them of the bill. We appreciated the gesture. The dessert menu wasn't as appealing to us, but in any case that was not the reason to go there in the first place. We chose the apple pancakes which were nice. All in all a dinner to remember, although on the pricey side.

“Everyone should go - just save your pennies”
Reviewed December 16, 2012

We came here for a special occasion, food was absolutely amazing and worth every penny. The staff are very engaging and make you feel welcome, they also have someone who describes all the different kinds of steak they have to offer.

We had the sausage platter for staters, bife de lomo fillet steak and a desert platter and I honestly could not fault any of it.

I would definitely recommend and I am sure to return, however do not expect a double figured bill!

“Great steaks”
Reviewed December 16, 2012

Gaucho is the ideal place to indulge in wonderful steaks. Our server Katie was wonderful and went out of her way to explain the various cuts and marinades. She offered four tastings of wines to ensure we chose what we liked, a good Malbec. Five days later and we are still talking about the steaks and Katie. The only let down is the chips, a great steak deserve chunky hand cut quality chips.
