“crowded, noisy, but decent food”
Reviewed September 16, 2013

recommended by our taxi driver so we could tryall types of dishes for the price of just a few dishes elsewhere...food was good, hot, replenished quickly...lots of variety, but really really greasy....seats like 300 peeps...waiting in long lines...wouldn't do again, but would do it once

“Lively place with decent buffet”
Reviewed September 10, 2013

Nawabs is situated on A6 Stockport Road so you can easily get there without much problems. In terms of parking, they do have a large car park behind the restaurant but when we went there it was totally full so we had to park in a side street about 10 minutes walk from the restaurant. OK we did go on Saturday evening where there was a wedding going on and a couple of birthday parties as well. The wedding reception was held in the Ottoman Suite which is upstairs and the main restaurant is downstairs. There is a prayer room as well upstairs next to the Ottoman suite and the toilets do have wudu facilities.. We came around 8.15pm and the reception said the waiting time was around 1 hour (that would be expected I suppose) but our name was called after 35 minutes while we are waiting in the lobby. The atmosphere in the restaurant was buzzing and vibrant. The tables are pretty close together so that can be a bit off-putting. The waiters seem like they are on another planet and not the most friendliest bunch of waiters I've seen.
We ordered our drinks (no alcohol served in this restaurant, I think!) and then went to the buffet area. Behind the buffet area, you'll see all the chefs making the food fresh and you can ask for certain food like masala dosa and samosa chaat to be done for you. You have to queue up in the buffet area so on the right hand side is the salad bar with salads and different chutneys, then you got the starters (vegetarian first, then meat, chicken, and fish), then the main courses along with a separate Indo-Chinese buffet and then the desserts buffet on the far left side. The vegetarian options are good here and the variety of meat and chicken is good. The buffet itself was surprisingly good and fresh - I've been to some buffet restaurants before and lot of their buffet food was stale, bland or horrible.
For starters I had was normal kebab, seekh kebabs, masala fish, naan, aloo chaat, dhai bhalay and all of them were good except the dhai bhalay which was bland as anything.
For main meals, we took all sorts of vegetarian and meat dishes and they were fantastic.
For desserts, we had kheer, gulab jaman, ice cream, and bread and butter pudding and all of that was fabulous and yes I topped it off with some mango lassi which was delicious.
All in all, I would recommend coming here with family or friends or in a group - it's worth coming here for a meal if you are in or around the area.

I have been here plenty of times and will keep going. For a buffet the food is normally fresh (because it is always so busy!) and very tasty. The lamb chops (which you have to ask for) are delicious. The fact that they have stopped doing alcohol too has just given them more barkat!

There is so much choice and kids love the desserts, especially the diffeent ice creams!

It is great going as large group of family/friends and you do not really mind the wait as you expect it. If you do not want to wait visit early evening on a weekday.

“Very clean”
Reviewed August 25, 2013 via mobile

Love how clean it is and how most of the food is prepared in sight, toilets are so clean and nice but I dont like how the waiters just stand by tables watching you and constantly hovering also abit pricey and I would never touch the food that is english/chinese as its so bad but gorgeous restaurant
