Share a delicious mezzah for lunch in the heart of Manchester - fabulous flavours and textures, and so different from what is available elsewhere.

This was a truly wonderful find. A very welcoming host and charming waiting staff, this Taverna has elegance and atmosphere, with a real sense of being in another country and culture. There is a lot of meat and fish on the menu, but we are vegetarians and found outstandingly lovely vegetarian dishes making a kind of banquet for two. Fresh ingedietns, lots of characterful and contrasting tastes and textures, very beautifully presented. And with excellent house wine too (the Armenian coffee was fabulous). This will be the first place we go back to when we are next in Manchester.

Visited this restaurant following being told about it by a family member. As an early mothers day treat i was taken here for lunch. We were made to feel welcome and although there was only one other diner when we went ,we didnt feel awkward as the restaurant has a dark and cosy atmosphere. We both had meze i had meat and my daughter had the veggie one. The plates are full of amazing flavours plus served with a gorgeous flat bread. A recent stated smallish portions were served but we both have fairly healthy appetites and found that there was more than enough food ,leaving some and although we wanted desert couldnt as we were full despite neither of us eating breakfast either that day. Good value for money. Good service. Will definitely go back soon.

We are doing a A-Z of cusines around the world in Manchester and started with this gem!

You step inside and feel like you have escaped Manchester and gone straight into Armenia. The staff are really friendly, and you feel at home.

We had the Armenia Banquet meal, so we could taste as much as possible. It was really enjoyable and you could tell that it had been freshly made. It was so tasty. The staff were brilliant at explaining what each dish was, and explaining more about Armenia.

We went on a snowly cold night and felt all warm afterwards.

Also really good value, just under £45 for two of us with three courses and house wine. Brilliant little find in Manchester

All in all no major complaints here. Good standard of Middle Eastern fare, cous-cous, mezzes, lamb kebabs etc etc, the food is quite enjoyable at a fairly reasonable price.

Good ambience, a busy Friday night with a young-ish crowd, there's not a table to spare. . . BUT

1) Drinks mark up pretty swingeing, a bottle of Efe's pilsner £3.75 (a quid max in Tesco so I'm *guessing* that the proprietors are getting it wholesale at 60p / bottle!)

2) portions a bit on the measly side, we left still vaguely hungry.

All in all though a perfectly good night out and we would return.
