Description: Dine in one of Manchester's most lively and cosmopolitan areas at the brilliant Bella Italia restaurant in Deansgate. Set amongst the areas numerous restaurants and bars, Bella Italia is a top spot for affordable Italian dining. Warm colours create a cosy ambience and the typical bistro style furnishings are a trademark style of Bella Italias throughout the UK. The menu offers a whole host of Italian classics from pizza to pasta and salads to grilled meat and fish. Try the succulent Italian burger served with ciabatta and mozzarella or the juicy chargrilled salmon steak with green beans, roasted new potatoes and olive and tomato salsa. The dessert list is too good to miss with tiramisu, lemon tart and banoffee pie amongst others to choose from.

Stayed in Manchester overnight for the Christmas Market, brilliant.
Whilst there we had some Tesco vouchers to get rid of so we decided, for a change, we would visit Bella Italia on Deansgate. We normally do Cafe Rouge so we fancied Italian this time.
This place gets busy, and those of you who had read my reviews before will know that, if it's busy I think it's usually a good sign.
This was no exception. The staff are very friendly, very helpful, even when rushed off their feet.
The food was excellent. We chose from the Al-a-carte menu and had a Bruschetta and a garlic bread with Olive Oil to share for starters then Beef Calzone each for main course, (you could share this dish as it's a large helping). Following this we had a sweet between us, (Cherry, chocolate ice cream), out of this world but bad for the figure. With four large glasses of wine the whole thing £60 for two. This may sound expensive but for the food quality, atmosphere and service I considered it not bad.
We will certainly frequent this one again, (nut maybe cut down on the quantity).

Staff were helpful and food average. It was freezing in here ! The only heat generated, was from the candle on our table, -though the flame on this, had singed the picture frame ...making it VERY drab ! When I visited the 'Ladies' up the long staircase, just when I thought I couldn't feel any colder, the temperature dropped to sub zero ! What was MOST off putting, was the toilet brush, discarded in the wash basin ! -If this is what goes on in the lavatory, I question what goes on in the kitchen ? ! This has put me off Bellla Italia for good !

This visit would have been excellent, if it wasn't for the terrible service we had. We were sat down and waited a good 10 minutes to order drinks. This was completely understandable as it was very busy, but were weren't even acknowledged or told that someone would get to us when they could. The waiter took our order very hurriedly, and didn't make any effort to be friendly or welcoming. The food came out promptly and was gorgeous, all credit to the chefs. I went for the meatballs and they were full of flavour, and the pasta was cooked to perfection. We had the chocolate torta for dessert which was also delicious. Really impressed by this restaurants food, and such reasonable prices as well (especially if you manage to get a voucher) shame about the cold and unfriendly service.

Food here was lovely - I can highly recommend the Beef Stew. It was delicious.

The waiting staff were a little slow, but very pleasant.

A good meal out that's nicer than a pub, but not overly expensive.
