Visited Pearl City three times during our trip because you just can't go wrong. Usually order this spicy szechuan fried chicken dish and the fried long beans, both good. As mentioned by the other reviews here, yes there is a 10% service charge, but I generally don't have complaints with the service charge given the reasonable prices charged for the meal and the staff are quite attentive, plus sometimes the restaurant offers you free soup and dessert when available.

Located upstairs on the edge of Chinatown. A little dated in decor and looking a little tired but on the Sunday night we visited it was busy with a large amount of Chinese clientele (usually a good sign). The food was fine, we had the usual banquet and loved the first 3 courses but the mains were a little disappointing, but then you are usually full by then! Service felt a little rushed.
No reason not to return apart from plenty other restaurants to choose from.

Been a regular quite a while here and know the staff now. Great food cooked fresh and fair price. Could do with a bit of sprucing up in the decor stakes but the food is good.

This restaurant is located on the edge of china town in city center Manchester. There is one large room and it seemed 80% full when we there with a mix of Chinese ( always a good sign ) and others with a bustling atmosphere.
There is a very wide range of the usual Chinese dishes, some extra thought on unique specials may be needed but all the classics are there. The beer selection was the usual Singha & Asian beers.
We started with a good hot & sour soup which was flavoursome & tasty, then had the salt & pepper ribs which were spicy, crispy & some of the best I've tasted.
Main courses were sliced duck in orange sauce which was the star performer with a lovely roasted duck skin & tasty sauce, other dishes were flambé steak & chicken cashew nuts both very nice, the rice accompaniment seemed freshly cooked.
The bill came to £25 a head which seemed reasonable value.
Overall an excellent meal & will definitely be heading back.

Really enjoyed the food, it's always been a good meal, I've been going for about 15 years now.
This is really the problem, it just doesn't seem to have had any work to smarten it up, it's very tired in places which is a shame.
The waiting staff need some some co-ordination too, you seem to get served and attended to by anyone who passes which means that you can be asked multiple times for the same thing by different staff, it's a little annoying to get asked every two minutes are you ready to order.
The staff also don't seem to understand when the table should be cleared as they were constantly trying to clear up before we had finished, it feels like they are watching you constantly, makes you feel like you are trying to set a record for the shortest dining experience.
Watch out for the 10% standard service charge that is for eat in dining too.
The place is frequented by lots of Chinese customers so it can't be half bad.
