“Food a bit disapointing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

Staying at the Hilton very nearby and saw all the great reviews for this place, we love Spanish food so thought we would go. The atmosphere, décor and service are all very good. Also good wine list.

However, the food was disappointing. The patatas bravas had a good sauce, but the potatoes had been cooked long before and were quite stale. The same with the Spanish omelette which is always pre cooked, but this one was very dry. The sea bass (tapas) was also pre-cooked so quite dry.

The black foot iberico ham was of wonderful quality and a highlight. Also good was a 'special' tapas with black pudding which was clearly freshly prepared and was really tasty.

Unfortunately, I will probably not go back, even through most reviews are very good as I have had much better tapas elsewhere.

“Great service and food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 7, 2013

Booked for hubbys birthday. Service on the phone was nice and friendly. It was very busy when we arrived, but they quickly brought a nice bottle of cava as requested. We ordered 6 dishes of tapas between four of us, plus two fish, and two chicken paellas. It was far too much, and we ended up leaving around half the paella. The dishes were very tasty, and the paella was full of meat and fish. The staff very kindly darkened the restaurant and had everyone sing happy birthday as a surprise for hubby. The meal for four including three bottles of wine and lots of water was £200. We felt it was good value for money and the service was excellent. I would definitely book again.

“Overpriced, small portions and not authentic Spanish”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 4, 2013 via mobile

My wife and family have eaten at many many Spanish restaurants around the UK and also in Spain and this has to rank as one of the worst! Food was very plain and boring. And the portion sizes were very very small. Would not recommend and would certainly never go back.

“Worth the walk”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 4, 2013

I love this Spanish restaurant come wine bar come wine shop. It always feels as if you are on holiday rather than on the far end of Deansgate. Everything is excellent quality, lovely staff, love the food, tapas more authentic than the norm, really good main courses and a lunchtime deal. Superb wine list and good wines by the glass. Today I took a friend, I had seabass baked in salt, superb and a rare dish to find away from the med.
