Description: Olive Restaurant & Bar in Manchester is a few steps off Deansgate, was voted best working lunch venue in town, but it’s great for pre-theatre and family meals too. The dining room blends rustic Italian with modern style. Think exposed brick, farmhouse furniture, cool lighting and sleek bar. Only the freshest ingredients go into the classic and innovative Italian dishes; such as handmade artisan pastas, stone-baked pizzas, lighter salads and a selection of meat and fish. We are child friendly and feature a dedicated healthy menu, make-your-own pizzas and miniature versions of any dish on the menu. Our exemplerary service is renowned throughout Manchester and we strive to ensure everyone will return time and time again.

Great value, excellent quality ...all freshly made, a refreshing change from the Italian "chains" all mass produced.

Wonderful, friendly young staff who were happy to engage in conversation, would definitely return

I made our reservation for 8pm. On our arrival the restaurant looked very busy but we were promptly taken to our table. Our waitress (Sally) was very friendly and took our order for drinks. We all had starters (tiger king prawns, meat balls and garlic bread) followed by main pasta dishes. Our son's request wasn't on the menu (penne with pesto) however that wasn't a problem and he was easily accommodated for by our attentive waitress. My son and I shared a nice tiramasu and the adults washed it all down with a fruity chilean cabernet sauvignon. This restaurant had a nice 'buzzing' atmosphere and even on a busy Saturday night they are very child friendly. We will return !

Well this is the 3rd visit in 2 months at the Olive Press. I was brought to the attention of this restaurant by the offer from Timesplus of 40% off food everyday of the week ( not many in the list do that ) Well I was not disappointed again. We shared a Roasted garlic mushrooms in a cream sauce with prosciutto and grilled ciabatta. This was very nice considering mushrooms are not my favourite veg ( my wife is very found of them )

Anyway main course for me was Pan fried seabream fillets which was lovely with polenta chips. My wife had a very nice Goats Cheese Salad.

This was washed away with a fine Chilean S/B

The ambiance is very good especially if you get a table surrounding the bar. Very attentive staff. Will be going back asap.

I registered with The Olvie Press about 6 months as they have a 40% off food offer if you book on-line. We went for lunch on Saturday and while the starters were good and reasonably priced the main courses, one a breast of chicken and another of lamb were pretty outrageous for what they were. After all how much does a restauarant pay for a breast of chicken?
The house wine was £14.75 and 2 bottles of Peroni was £7.50. The total bill came to over £50.
That is for lunch for two, a starter and a main for each person, share a bottle of wine and two beers and that is with 40% off the food bill total!
Perhaps it was us being a bit tight, it was Manchester city centre with all the associated costs but then again Manchester is not London or New York. Food was quite good and so was service.
