Description: SAMSI has been trading for 19 years in April, specialising in Japanese cuisine and food stuff. It began as an award-winning restaurant, which quickly expanded into four different cities in the North west of England. In response to customer request we began importing and selling ingredients in retail sizes while continuing to search Japan for the highest quality restaurant ingredients. We research every country for trends in Japanese dining in restaurants, hotels, and in homes. From the UK, we can supply worldwide reliably. Our recent expansion has been the manufacture of Japanese ready-meals in noodle, bento-lunchbox, and sushi packs. These have been developed with Manchester Metropolitan University. The taste test studies carried out by the university supported our ideal that the ready meals are restaurant quality. We not only deal with food products, but we also provide tableware to assist you in experiencing the most authentic Japanese style.

We visited the New Samsi on recommendation. It's a beautifully decorated restaurant with waiting on staff in traditional dress. There is a shop downstairs which I would recommend having a look inside.

I had chicken gyoza and beef ramen which were tasty but nothing special. My Husband has sushi and chicken gyoza ramen which he enjoyed.

We shared a pot of green tea and had a glass of the plum wine, both I'd recommend.

The waiting on staff weren't particularly friendly or attentive. I don't think I'd rush back to New Samsi, better service and tastier food at Wagamama or Tampopo.

Ive been here a few times, the fresh sushi and the noodles are so uniquely tasty. Fresh and i enjoyed how the waiters dress up in traditional attire. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming although maybe a little outdated. But all in all a lovely place to eat.

We were visiting Manchester this weekend and my partner in crime mentioned that he's never eaten Japanese food before. After asking local friend for a recommendation, we ended up at Samsi and thoroughly enjoyed our evening! Samsi have a great range of sushi, gyoza, tempura, noodle dishes, domburi and other delights, so it was easy for to put together a delicious sample meal. The sushi was particularly fresh and tasty. Service was attentive and friendly.

Joined a large group meal at New Samsi, where we all had one of the set menus. The food was delicious, with plenty provided, and I really enjoyed trying new things. The service was OK, but could have been a bit more cordial. All in all, and very enjoyable evening, and the restaurant was full, so had a great buzz.

We were only in there 45 minutes. All felt very rushed. Food was excellent. We ordered a variety of sushi which was tasty. Just felt like they couldn't wait to get you out even though they weren't busy - this was Saturday night 9pm. Will we go again - no I don't think so.
