We went to the French on 31st August, and had the most wonderful experiance. The staff were all very friendly and knowledgable and aswered any questions we had. We had the 10 course menu with wine flight . Each course was beautiful to look at and the balance of taste and textures perfect. Have heard that The French has won best newcomer in the Good Food Guide - I am not surprised. The attention to detail is remarkable and obviously comes from a team of dedicated and talented chefs. Thank you to all who made our night so memorable.

Great restaurant. We love to eat at great places and this is a great place. Different quality to most restaurants in Manchester. Real effort and time has clearly gone into each item and you can taste it with every mouth. I think it's the best fish I've had in a very long time. Will definitely be returning. Quality throughout.

The food and service is still good, but it was not as good as the first time. Lack of attention to detail the second time lessened the experience and maybe it was due to the fact that SR was not in the kitchen- it felt that the staff were coasting, which is unacceptable. However, if I had not been before I would not have complained. However, when one pays a considerable amount for a meal, then it is reasonable to expect all the staff to perform to the level one knows is possible.

This was a wedding anniversary meal for 4 people. We had the full 10 courses, which turned out to be 15 courses (with the extras). The final bill was several hundred pounds. The service was excellent and they happily agreed to alter some of the ingredients for the 2 fussiest members. (No onion, no garlic). Brilliant atmosphere. The decor, not so much Ikea as others have insinuated on other reviews, but more like the waiting room of an upmarket brothel.
Each course was excellent consistently excellent, and a thoroughly enjoyable night was had by all.
Would recommended.

Interesting place and so different to the "old" French with its swags and formal atmosphere. Very light and modern witch my companion likened to IKEA! It has certainly been stripped right back but tables are well spaced and it is a pleasant space.

We opted for the six course menu and it was very good if not particularly memorable. Service is good but given they are bringing you food every ten minutes or so it does tend to interrupt conversation as they assiduously describe each dish. Decent wine list and prices are fair.

All in all a good experience.
