This building used to be an office block, but its curved form gives it some architectural interest - as does the landscape windows that (at one side) give an interesting city vista to those with rooms on the top floors. It is very convenient for the railway station, and although only a few extra minutes walk to the major attractions, it does feel slightly out of the action.
A very pleasant receptionist offered to look after my bag before I checked in later in the day. Other staff were efficient - and one or two made the effort to engage guests in conversation.
My room was a standard room, facing the rear of the property. Very well proportioned and spotless, with double glazed windows, it provided a very good night's sleep.
Some nice design features - including a night light in the bathroom, but some maintenance needed (the grab rail above the bath was lose / the wardrobe door handle was broken). Fresh milk will be brought to your room on request.
No radio other than on the (fairly small) flat screen TV, but the room is big enough for a couple of easy chairs (albeit the fabric was stained).
Watch out for parking charges and internet charges - both are expensive, and loses this hotel an "excellent" rating from me. Otherwise a good choice for the price.More
