i found my place in Manchester. Loved this place. both location and atmosphere were fantastic. and i do recommend Sniker Creme Brulee :D. they could work on sound proofing there rooms. hearing people on the street and hearing police car sirens at night can be a little annoying.

Having stayed in Hiltons before, wasn't sure what to expect as the quality varies greatly between them.

However- the location is fantastic for people arriving by train into Piccadilly (which I did) as it's just across the road. Reception staff were very friendly, and catered for my request for a room with a decent view as I wanted to do a timelapse video.

The room was very cosy, but not small. The TV was a Mac PC, with extra mouse and keyboard in a drawer beneath the unit. Bed was very comfortable, WiFi was free (and a good speed- very welcome as free hotel WiFi can be really slow) and the aircon was excellent- quiet and effective.

Even though the door to the bathroom swings shut automatically, the bathroom (even though small) never got steamed up during a shower. I must admit this is the first time I've ever experienced this- the air extraction must be second to none.

The decor is tasteful, a hybrid of wood and opaque glass. You get an iron and ironing board, and you have plenty of plug sockets (some hotels, bizarrely, either restrict these or put them in stupid places).

Double glazing is excellent, and I got zero road noise at all, despite the fact I was looking onto Station Approach (was on 7th floor).

All in all, very nice stay and would absolutely stay here again,

We stayed in August 2013 for 3 days, walking distance from Piccadilly,
When we arrived we could not get parking space cos its full and have to make another turn to park at next door building, The hot water at the shower is not working until my baby shaking when she had her bath, the breakfast is a bit boring. The bed is very tiny. A waiter at the room service was not helpful
And the waiter service is not satisfying due the breakfast time.

The check in was smooth, a Polish Reception lady is really helpful.
The bar cocktail happy hour was Favorited by my hubby's family,
as standard UK hotel, they have iron board & iron so this is helpful cos i wash my baby's clothes everyday, also kettle to warm up baby food.
And the laundry service is pretty affordable.
Overall i think its not really 4star.

First of all the staff were all very polite and attentive but unfortunately this was not a good stay and riddled with problems. 1. Key card for the room failed to work despite being reset several times. Repeated trips and calls to reception very frustrating. 2. Guests banging on and slamming doors at 2am. This may sound snobby but you chose the Hilton and expect a certain experience, which includes being around a certain quality of person. Drunken chavs is not that type of person. I don't know the answer to this for the management as pricing them out doesn't look feasible based on the dubious looking crowd checking in to the (considerably more expensive) Beetham Tower hotel. I thought I'd walked into an audition for Jeremy Kyle. 3. Room wasn't in great nick with dirty walls, ripped duvet and leaky shower door. 4. I booked a double via Expedia. Confirmation stated standard twin. Called both Hilton and Expedia and was told this had been changed. Turned up and lo and behold I was still in a twin single. Not sure which firm's fault this was but Hilton staff get the benefit of the doubt. I imagine the hotel is more agreeable during the midweek when there's largely a business clientele and lower occupation.

I stayed here for 2 nights from 14-16 August. Very friendly reception staff and easy check-in. My room (621) was very comfortable and clean. I was surprised to find no tea and coffee making facilities in my room, which is standard for most hotels in the UK. There was some noise from the tram, but it didn't bother me. Good breakfast and a great selection, with attentive staff. Great location too so close to Picadilly station and also the trams and buses to get around the city. When I return to Manchester I shall stay here again. Thank you for a very pleasant stay.
