I like the boutique-feel of this hotel. You forget that you are in a Hilton chain hotel. Service was great, location perfect if you want to be near the train station. If I ever end up in Manchester, I will defintely return.

Good hotel, let down by paper-thin, badly fitting adjoining door between guestrooms. We were treated to our boozed-up neighbours having a row when they returned after clubbing - so loud, it was as if we were sat on the end of their bed.
Doubletree Manchester management, please install adjoining doors that fit better, with decent sealing strips and preferably some soundproofing!
Based on this experience, I will be very wary about taking another hotel room with an adjoining door.

Recently stayed for two nights with a client on a pre-paid, non-refundable, non-cancellable deal but at 65 quid per night B&B who's complaining! This was my first stay post Hilton acquisition but had stayed before in both its CityInn and Mint guises. Location can't be faulted, staff were very friendly and rooms were the same as in the Mint days. My HHonors membership meant I was upgraded to a King Exec but if I had paid, I would've been a tad disappointed. Had a few problems getting the Mac TV to work but finally got it going. Shame that none of the standard rooms have bathtubs.
Breakfast was great on both mornings as we beat the rush but they were having trouble replenishing the bains maries quickly enough and we did have to chase up tea and toast on both mornings.
Bar prices are a bit steep, have a 10% service charge factored in and you have to leave a 50 quid card guarantee before you can charge anything to your room which I resent bitterly and is sadly becoming standard in the UK and at all Hiltons!
The itemised bill for express checkout shoved under your door is a good idea though I didn't use it. Still think the cookies are a waste of time and expense. Kitsch American marketing gag, which makes me want to! Would return though if I got a good value deal.

stayed for 1 night at the cost of 143 pounds for a king deluxe room.we were greeted by friendly staff we were given cookies which were nice. couldnt fault the room ,, a certain couple did wake us up and half the hotel at 6am . screaming and shouting......but no fault to the hotel.. too much alchol,,we didnt get our sunday paper until we asked and the breakkfast was a little let down ..it was cold . because the food isnt kept warm enough and when uve got ur breakfast you have to wait for the toast ..then after 10 mins of waiting ur breakfast is cold.. but overhall we had a great stay here . ps the drinks arnt cheap .. 1 rose wine and a pint of bitter 11 pound....a bit over the top..but we woulld stop here again and recemend it

Room Tip: 8th and 9th floor rooms are mostly king deluxe ..10th is th suite..below are the standard and queen...

Just stayed here this weekend and was looked after very well. I stayed here before when it was the Mint hotel so knew the location and I am happy to say that very little has changed. Staff looked after us all very well and more than happy to stay here again in future

Liked the check in, good price (advance nonref. booking), bright well eqipped room (imac worked well and good free wifi), parking at £15 for 24hrs good with direct hotel access (but places cannot be booked and are limited), good location, nice large/tall windows, free bottles of water. From eigth floor nice view. Easy walk to MEN arena.

Could do better though: There were several long dark hairs very easily seen on the bathroom floor, no robes, loose mixer tap, soap dispenser full but not working, pillows poor, chairs very grubby (but as I was leaving the hotel seemed to be having loads of chairs delivered - maybe solving this issue), sheet had a hole in it. The very odd empty minibar with only packages of drinks to by (i.e. a selection for a set sum) - not flexible and not a good idea at all.

Room Tip: Try foer a high floor.
