Stayed here in between Christmas and New Year on a fantastic advance rate.

Check in and out was excellent - in fact, I think the service was great throughout our stay and have nothing but praise for the staff we dealt with.

Rooms were very nice, spacious and well appointed. Only problem was our sink had an awful sewage smell emanating from it in the evening. We got such a good rate we opted not to make a fuss - if i'd been paying full price i wouldnt have been happy though!

Cloud 23 is a nice bar, and it even makes hulme and trafford look nice from up there ;) but i think the mgmt should stiffen the dress code inside. Im not saying go down the old route of no jeans/trainers, just more of a "dress to impress" code...most people were dressed up, but then you'd see the odd guy with scruffy jeans and trainers, or older dudes with cords and anoraks (no kidding)!

My only gripe would be the prices, they're trying to charge London prices, but... this isnt London, and they should cut their cloth accordingly.

Would I stay again? If i could get a good rate, yes, definitely. but on rack rate? sorry, but no thanks. If im paying that kind of money i'd go elsewhere in MCR.

I stayed here on business recently and loved this hotel. Its location is ideal for the business district and not far from the main pubs and restaurants area.

My room was on the 9th floor and the whole window wall was floor to ceiling and wall to wall glass offering an amazing view of the whole city below. The decor was modern and the bathroom small but well equipped.

The highlight was the late night drink we had in the Cloud bar at the top of the hotel which felt like the top of the world!!! Not a place if you are afraid of heights.

The breakfast service was fine and the offering the usual fare. The check in and check out was my only gripe with insufficient staff at both times (5pm and 9am) which must be predictable peaks. I enjoyed my stay overall though and the whole experience in Manchester of a modern vibrant city means I plan to go back with husband in tow for a weekend break soon.

We stayed here for 3 nights over New Year. Fantastic location for the many bars, restaurants, and shops in the vicinity.. All within easy walking distance (highly recommend the restaurant 'Pesto' just up the road on Deansgate'.

Lovely airy lobby area, very modern, and check in staff very polite, and seemed happy. The rooms were a good size, very clean, and extremely modern, flat screen TV's, newly fitted bathroom etc.

The on site pool area was ok, swimming pool small, but the sauna/steam room were nice. The jacuzzi wasn't working which was a little frustrating, but hey, these things happen.

Our only gripes were the answering of the phone (we called several times during our stay when we were out, and no-one answered on a few occasions, and the price of the drinks in Cloud 23 ! Lovely setting, classy bar, however £20 for 2 cocktails and one bottle of beer was a bit steep..

All in all - the hotel was superb, and we will definately be going back..

Decided to treat ourselves and stay over for a Friday night following a works Christmas party at the hotel. Pleasantly suprised for Manchester we got a pretty good deal on the room rate booking direct with the hotel, think it was around £175 inclusive breakfast for a superior queen room, the prices were a lot cheaper a month earlier but I left it last minute to book, it can go up to £300 plus at the weekends! Nice room, 14th floor, modern newly furnished, great view. Functional bathroom, single sink ok size but no robes or slippers etc. Had a few drinks in the lobby bar and a snack in the afternoon, didnt make it up to the roof top bar because we were attending a function but the queue was very long! Lovely exercise area, swimming pool and jacuzzi but again didnt have time to use the facilities. Nice restaurant area for breakfast was quite busy, Christmas and the Take That concert, usual hot and cold selection nothing out of the ordinary, check in and out was good and 40% discount on the Great Northern car park. Would stay again as I would like to visit the Sky bar and use the pool but only if I could get a good rate on the internet but deffo not worth £300 plus weekend rates. On a positive note this was a great venue for an event, the function room looked great and the food was not too bad for mass catering.

After reading reviews I was a bit dubious to say the least.
Checked in with no problem. We had booked an Executive room.
Fantastic views, nice and clean. Not too hot, not too cold. Individual controls for climate control.
Modern, clean bathroom with separtate shower cubicle.
Reception staff very polite and professional.
Executive lounge worth a visit for the views and wide range of pre-dinner drinks and canapes. Definately worth the extra £20 or so.
Cloud 23 was really nice, and I didn't find it too expensive - unless you want a bottle of premium champers! We had double gin and fresh orange - £7.00 each - very reasonable for a hotel of this calabre (you should see the prices in the South of England!!).
Overall a fantastic experience. We will definatley return to this hotel and will again book an Executive room.
CANNOT FAULT THIS HOTEL. Central, clean and friendly.

First the good, the staff were amazing. For such a flag ship hotel, from reception, to the 23rd floor (location of Cloud 23 bar) they really made you feel at home, and wanted.
Downside the room we had, was cold, this despite the heating at 32, I don't know if this was because we were next to the lift shaft (which ran all night needless to say) but it was not warn. Please make sure you establish you are not next to a lift, the design of the hotel means they run through the centre, we were in 909 and all three lifts were just on the other side of our wall. For £150.00 this should have been pointed out. Cloud bar is great for the view, but overpriced, breakfast very good in a very comfortable setting, but again overpriced.
I really enjoyed the stay, but think it is the sort of place people will stay once for the novely and then not return to. I couldn't praise the staff enough, there was an almost Disney quality but without the "sugariness...."

I stayed just after this monstrousity opened. It was poor then, but I put it down to teething problems. But it's not a deal better. The real problem is that the whole thing is so damn ugly. Rooms a little better now the air conditioning works. But the service is barely acceptable for a hotel of this price. The breakfast is ordinary. Downstairs bar is pretty awful, and there were a bunch of none residents queuing for the 23rd floor bar, so we decided to give it a miss. I don't do queues at the price you pay for the dubious honour of staying here. Arrived back at 1 am and requested a coffee in the bar, only to be told they don't do hot drinks. Pathetic. The only saving grace is that there is a great little Spanish restaurant 50 yards away. Keeps a man sane when staying in an antiseptic pile like this.
I felt sorry for a couple who seemed to be having their wedding reception here. What a memory
