Not been in this place for about 30 years! We went in for few pints on a mid week afternoon so it was on the quiet side. What I do like about this place is that the exterior has thankfully been left alone and it dates from what I would guess to be the mid 1800's. The interior has I am afraid been "Improved" in about the 1970's and is not up to much. Drinks were fairly priced and the one staff member on duty was friendly. The pub is located in an area that used to be known as "Little Ireland" which in it's time was one of the most squalid area's of Manchester. In fact if you look at some of the buildings close by you can still see the cellars where some of the very worst housing was.
