“Trip down memory lane”
Reviewed August 19, 2014

Not been in this place for about 30 years! We went in for few pints on a mid week afternoon so it was on the quiet side. What I do like about this place is that the exterior has thankfully been left alone and it dates from what I would guess to be the mid 1800's. The interior has I am afraid been "Improved" in about the 1970's and is not up to much. Drinks were fairly priced and the one staff member on duty was friendly. The pub is located in an area that used to be known as "Little Ireland" which in it's time was one of the most squalid area's of Manchester. In fact if you look at some of the buildings close by you can still see the cellars where some of the very worst housing was.

“Love this place”

If you like your rock music with your beers...this is the place to go. If you like to people-watch...this is a pretty good place to go as you see all sorts in there!

“Good, but not as good as it used to be”
Reviewed April 23, 2014

I last went here in 1999 and it was an amazing venue. Now it seems a bit cleaner, and more organised but has lost a little of the charm it had all those years ago. A nice pub nevertheless.

“Great ales, great jukebox, great atmosphere.....”
Reviewed April 21, 2014

We've been in the Salisbury Ale House quite a few times now, each time have had a brilliant night...good selection of well kept ales at a great price, and a huge selection of spirits on the bar, very friendly staff, pool table and TV's with the best jukebox ever and a comfy covered smoking area. If you like rock music, give it a try - everyone is made welcome...

“Magnificent !”
Reviewed March 9, 2014

Simply the best pint of Old Peculiar I have had in many a year.

It was like drinking Ice cream !

Can't wait to go back and have some more.
