Rather a low profile tourist attraction and only open on Tuesdays, but worth doing if you can. Upstairs there's an entire rebuilt Magistrates' Court from the Victorian era.

“Bit Biased I suppose”
Reviewed February 16, 2013

Having worked out of Newton Street in the 80's when it began its Museum journey. I can safely state that it has become a first class attraction and my congratulations go to all involved and in particular the volunteers who really make the experience come alive. My granddaughter was enthralled and really enjoyed the recent visit. It was good to be in the old coroners court from Denton without the tension of waiting for Mr Revington's cross examination. A hidden gem in some respects but a vital part of Manchester's history and well worth a visit.

“Informative and interesting”
Reviewed February 12, 2013

Lots of exhibits comparing centuries old policing to modern day. Volunteers are ex police and have current serving officers coming in too. Very interesting talks, the best part was the custody suite.
ill be coming back though, need more than half an hour! I left it a little too late!!

“Entertaining, educational and historical”
Reviewed February 1, 2013

Loved all the artifacts, old police station desk, cells, squad cars and history. Highlight was the old court room taken from Denton nick, and the sinister array of weapons used in the Strangeways riots.
