“Oh for the love of buses”
Reviewed September 25, 2013

This place is a amazing place for the history of public transport in Greater Manchester, it mainly focuses on buses, from the 1930's up until some buses which were running 10 or 15 years ago, showing how a inspectors office used to look like, old bus uniforms, old ticket machines, buses in the different former liveries of the boroughs of Greater Manchester, and the old GM buses, plenty of buses you could get on and have your photograph taken, a bit on the history of trams, including a lovely horse drawn tram, some old buses in need of restoration, and a old trolley bus.

Great that the museum is in a former bus depot, the staff are brilliant knowledgable volunteers, lovely old bus style cafe, what is not to love, children will love this marvelous place.

“Run by volunteers with lots of knowledge”
Reviewed September 1, 2013

This is a museum for fans of public transport in Manchester.
In addition the museum is run by volunteer who have worked in the transport industry and can tell you so much about transport in the Greater Manchester region.

We saw some of the old buses and had explanations as to how they could make buses lower but keep them double deckered simply by putting the gangwalk on the right instead of the middle.

Fabulous afternoon

“Great historical pieces”
Reviewed August 30, 2013

This is a great museum with lots of interesting vehicles. There is a great little shop with all sorts of memorabilia and collectors items. Some of the buses you can get on and go up to the top. It was also quite cheap. I hope this museum keeps going for many more years
