“OK but not outstanding”

Houses a multiplex cinema and a number of chain restaurants and bars.
OK for a cheap evening but not the place to imptress or be seen.

“Good for a specific purpose, but limited”
Reviewed May 10, 2013

The Printworks has a really good location in the centre of Manchester. It’s well supported by train, tram, bus and car. However be aware that the car parking can be expensive – around £9 for over 2 hours and then rising. May be worth a 5 or 6 minute walk in from one of the car parks a little further out.

The building is actually an old print works (dur) and old and authentic, it is also undercover so it’s good for the rainy days (which can be frequent in Manchester!)

There are a wide range of places to eat including Nando’s, Harvester, sushi, etc. Likewise with the number of bars - Tiger Tiger is always good for a night out and Norwegian Blue is far more laid back. There are also a mixture of bars and food such as Planet Hollywood.

The night life is very good, especially into the early hours. Not sure of the opening times, but I’ve been in there at 3am at one point.

There is also an Odeon with a huge Imax screen here, if you do go to watch a 3D movie then ensure you are high up and in the centre of the room, as anything else isn’t as good an experience as it tends to distort due to the size of the screen. The price is also quite high – I paid just under £14 per person to watch Star Trek last night. Almost double the price at a normal 2D cinema.

While the Printworks has a good location, it’s very samey inside – it’s mostly bars or food places so it’s a good place to start from, but maybe not spend as much time inside. I’ve always gone for a specific reason (film, meal, etc) and then done other things afterwards.

It is good to explore more of Manchester from as most things are in easy walking distance, so it’s a good landmark to meet and maybe grab a drink and move on but it’s an average venue in itself

“Love it”
Reviewed April 30, 2013

I really like it here. Whenever I'm in Manchester, I love to come here, whether it's to watch a movie at the Odeon cinema, or maybe just to grab a bit to eat, I like it here. I definitely recommend coming here for something to eat as they have great restaurants. :)

“great night in Tiger Tiger”
Reviewed April 30, 2013

Went to Tiger Tiger and we had a great night in a stag group. Plenty of space and different rooms to move around comfortably as a group and service was good at the bars.
Hard to beat a Tiger Tiger in any city for a good night out.
