Worth a visit, free entry but do ask for a donation what is understandable. Plenty of things to see and do in there, got stuff you can pay for to have a go on.

Would be better if they had some stuff on lower league team, maybe I’m saying that because I support on. Got a shop in there along with a cafe.

Always worth a visit! Free entry, but it's nice
To make a contribution. Loads of very interesting pieces from history and you will definitely find something that will interest you. Lots of interactive things as well. Brilliant!

I expected to spend about 30 minutes here, but I was fully engaged for nearly 2 hours! Much of that was down to my excellent guide, Craig, with whom I enjoyed a 1:1 tour. Highly recommended, even if football isn't totally your thing.

If you love football and even if you just kind of like it, it’s worth stopping in and seeing football through the ages!!

The slot machines upstairs definitely won the prize as far as my 9 year old companion was concerned, though at a cost of £1 for 6 old pennies, and each machine costing a penny, it turned out not that cheap!
You could use a crane to lift out a prize, or play ice hockey or football, and we had a laugh.
Apart from tge slot machines, there was something for both of us, although I think Mads was bored by the photographic exhibition on the third floor. Pity, as I could easily have sat in one of the comfy sofas and watched the slides of football scenes all the way through, but she wanted to get back to the penny arcade.
As for other hands (or feet) on activities, she was a bit shy to try her skill at the penalty shoot out or the commentating, but did finally try a couple of things and now she wants to go back and try again, as well as get her picture with a trophy.
Big strength was the friendliness and helpfulness of staff, and in the cafe, a good bowl of nachos, although it was a bit chilly in there.
We spent over two hours and could have stayed longer if we had had more money to buy credits for activities.
Mads got the visitors deal for £6 which gives you (I think ) 5 credits for activities, but the shoot out costs 2 credits, so they don't go that far.
You can get in for free, but they suggest a donation of £4, and, as I say, you need credits for some activities and money for slot machines, so it could easily be £20 for one adult, one child, and that's before snacks, although the food is cheap and you get a good portion of nachos for what it costs.
One drawback is parking if you go by car. The NCP parks nearby could set you back just under £10 if you stay for three hours, and you could easliy stay that long. Might be better to go by tram. Its only a 5 minute walk from Exchange Square tram stop.

The football museum is in an ideal location for anyone visiting Manchester City centre. It really takes you back in time through the football eras with plenty of interactive experiences that can suit all from videos to more physical games. The staff were very friendly and we had a good chat to one who was lovley and although the museum it self was free we were happy to give a donation for a great thing to do!

Recommended by our son to us, who visited earlier this year. Loads of football memorabilia, from hundreds of teams, and not just premier league ones! Everything on display from football shirts, boots, old foot balls, medals, even Robbie Savages hair!!!!!! Gift shop at the end, though a bit expensive. A large collection of old vintage football tables and arcade machines. Change your money for old pennies and you can playl
