room was clean and spacious and did the job it was supposed to. However check-in isnt till 2pm this was a issue as we arrived half 2 and were then told the restaurant wont be able till 6. We had travelled for 3 hours in car and wanted to avoid service station and have proper food. we had to dump are baggage and ask reception to book us a taxi into centre. taxi into print works about £7.80.
staff nice enough people however was little disorganised at the check-in process

Room Tip: BE AWARE food isnt all day !!!

Dear Guest
Thank you for your feedback and appreciate your positive comments regarding the room standards and our staff. We do offer food throughout the day in our bar, and rest assured I am following this up with my reception team as they should be advising our guests of this on check in.

This hotel was OK. We only stayed one night for the National Winter Ales festival. Didn't spend much time in the hotel at all. We paid a little extra to get a king-size executive room as the only other standard rooms available according to Hotels.com were smoking rooms. It's quite a walk into town but there's a bus from Oldham road, although if there's a few of you it's cheaper to get a taxi. The rooms were clean, minibar fully stocked. Bar downstairs was a little pricey. Staff helpful and friendly though. We'd stay here again, it's super close to the Ale festival :).

Room Tip: If you don't want a smoking room, you have to specify.

May i first say that all of the staff were great and sympathetic during the 3night stay,"However.
We arrived on the friday and booked in, only to be informed that the WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE ROOM was double booked.
Mr Vickers is a static wheelchair user and needs to be hoisted from his chair on to bed and toilet, we were offered a standard room on the smoking floor which "stinks of stale ash trays.
Because of our journey we had no option to accept at this point, as the accessible room would be avaialable the next day.
I had to tip the beds up on there ends to create enough room to access the room, the door into the toilet was too small, hens the wheelchair would not go in, Not good when you have to pee in a bottle and get some one to empty it because you cant access the bath room.
After tipping up the beds to create access in the room, we managed for that night, next day we changed rooms for a Disabled room " You've gotto be kidding. Still had to tip the beds up on there ends to create access, and yes the toilet was accessible. I had to sleep on a mattress on the floor because the room was so small.
We went out for the day ( day 2) and used the trams, because it was easier than driving his wheelchair accessible vehicle in to Manchester city centre, arrived back at holiday inn at 10.20pm to find 2x notices attached to his mobility vehicles (Blue disabled badge showing), asking to report to the reception, I thought some one must have caused damage to the vehicle so i went to the reception to find out what the problem was as it was parked in there disabled parking bay. The night staff informed me that " THERE IS A WEDDING FAYRE ARRANGED IN THE HOTEL TOMORROW " SO COULD I REMOVE THE VEHICLE FROM THE DISABLED PARKING BAY. BECAUSE THE WEDDING CARS WILL BE PARKING THERE !!!!!!!!
Assisted Mr Vickers (room 221) 19/4/13 into bed then i layed down on the mattress to sleep, "the bar is open till 2.00am in morning, " Well i looked at the time every 30min until 3.45am because the noise from drunken bums, up and down the corridoors, banging of doors was shamfull. The receptionist advised me the write out a complaint form,"well a waste of time, i filled 2 forms out previously at the Holiday inn junct Birminham and never got a letter ,Email.
One of the staff said that when booking a disabled room, it is advisable to write a foot note on the booking that the room is to be used by a wheelchair person !!!!!!!
Hello..... is that the whole point of booking a disabled room in the first place.
As a community support woker, this is the worst experience i've come across whilst assisting a wheelchair user to be independant

Room Tip: If you book a disabled room, advise them that your in a wheelchair.

Comfortable, room, helpful staff, although manager promised to respond to a query he never did. Lovely food in the restaurant although black pudding could have knocked out Mike Tyson. The evening waiter was very entertaining and clearly enjoys his job.
BUT I do like a bit of TV at the end of the day and receptionist said, BBC doesn't work in the rooms and I do not know how to operate the TV! Not good for a hotel that has WIFI in all the rooms but cannot get the Tv to work. Would stay again if I have my IPaD to watch TV on!

Dear Guest
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. My apologies for the BBC not working, some changes had been made to the multiplex, which we have now had rectified. Each individual TV had to be re-tuned following these changes. Unfortunately we were not given any prior notice to this happening so the first we knew of this was following a few guest complaints.
I am pleased that you found the room comfortable and our staff helpful, though my apologies again that one of our Managers did not come back to you with a response to your query.
Thanks again and we look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel in the near future.
Kind Regards, Lucja Leonard

Stayed at this hotel for a hen weekend. We did not spend a lot of time in the hotel, but when we did it was quite pleasant. Breakfast was of a good standard and the staff where pleasant and helpful. In previous reviews of this hotel it has been mentioned that there was a distinct lack of staff, I did notice this however if at the bar you did not wait too long, and reception was also not always manned. All in all was an ok hotel and I enjoyed my stay. If I was staying in Manchester I would book this hotel again. Basic but you get what you pay for.

Room Tip: Rooms basic but okay.

Extremely dissatisfied experience staying at Holiday Inn Manchester Central Park. Disturbed in the late night by a man using an exercise bike in the corridor outside of our room making an awful noise. Poor quality gym facilities. No basic washing products such as shower gel in the shower dispenser, soap, flanels and run-down dirty bathroom. On attempting to call for assistance, no staff to answer the call despite a long wait and I later discover that there are no staff at the front desk. No security to the hotel. On dialing the hotel operator and emergency numbers, again no reply - so I presume no assistance if any emergencies occur at the hotel. I will not choose to stay again particularly when there are other hotels cheaper.

Dear Guest
My apologies that you were disturbed by a very inconsiderate guest setting this up in the corridor, this is not something that we would allow during the evening hours, we do have a lot of professional cyclists staying with us that during the day will have their kit out and about the hotel, but this should have been cleared away well before the evening. I will address this, along with your concerns about reception not being manned with our nights team, as we do always have at least 2 staff on during the night to ensure that we maintain a high level of security. This is not our usual level of service and I apologise that your stay was not up to our usual standard.
Thank you again for your feedback.

Not the worst hotel I've ever been in, but certainly not the best. Room was clean, nice towels and bedding, quiet enough so that you could sleep, hot shower. Decor tired, headboard and chair both torn.
However, the location was dreadful!! I didn't feel safe here, and was dubious about leaving valuables in the room. They do offer safety deposit boxes in reception, but with a no liability clause so they are essentially useless.
Cost £10 in a taxi to centre, and £12 back again. On a street with derelict buildings, car scrapyards etc, and big metal railings round hotel. Would have been much better off staying in the centre, and would have probably paid the same as this wasn't cheap.

Dear Guest
Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback regarding your stay. I was pleased to read that you found out hotel to be clean & quiet with nice room facilities. Unfortunately our location is what it is, I can assure you that we take safety and security very seriously and our hotel is just as safe as a city centre hotel, if not safer. Our location is not suited to everyone, but has its plus points depending on what you are visiting for. We are only a mile from Etihad Stadium, Velodrome & Sport City and we have a number of nearby corporate offices which are ideal for a number of our visitors, and with our free parking can be well suited for people visiting Manchester by car.
We hope we can tempt you to stay with us again in the near future.
Kind Regards, Lucja Leonard
