We were made to feel welcome from checking in to checking out. Reception staf were friendly, professional and were very knowledgable about the city. Nothing was too much troble for them. Rooms were large , clean and well equipped and although in a central location, you could not hear any noise from the city even though we were staying on a Friday and Saturday night. Hotel was fairly busy but in my opinion you could not hear fellow guests in adjoining rooms. Breakfast buffet was plentiful and again the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them.
we returned from a night out to the bar which was open until 3 in the morning. Great bat staff, comfortable surroundings and reasonabler priced drinks.
There is a fairly secure parking with staff situated very close by to the hotel and a 30 per cent discount for guests staying at the hotel.

All in all and all round good experience which enhanced our weekend away with the girls. Thanks to all the hotel staff.

The air conditioning in the room was terrible. Extremely cold and any adjustment from the temperature controller was purely futile. The room was like the Antarctic with it on and a sauna with it off. Standard practice really though by hoteliers all across Europe with centralised thermostats and in-room temperature controllers as nothing more than wall ornaments. We had to turn it off in the end. Bad for us, but good for Premier in that we helped them with the power bill. The tea making facilities in the room were good however the absence of a fridge in the room wasn't.

The noise from adjoining guestrooms and people in the hallway was unbearable. The walls were paper thin and literally just made of paper. We were a young family (husband-wife, three year old and my wife was pregnant with our second) who were in town to visit the tourist attractions. We were clearly not there for the nightlife. The hotel appeared empty and yet somehow the reception staff thought it would be good to group us alongside young and aloof partying idiots. Maybe they thought the extra noise and banter would be a nice additional feature of our stay. Did we get a good nights sleep in the end…..absolutely not. But don't worry Premier, we made up for any shortcomings in the night's sleep by maxing the buffet breakfast in the morning (actually was a good selection and value for money and the waiting staff was spot on). Noise continues to be a notorious problem with guests in blogs and Premier continues to do nothing about it. Sort it out Premier Inn! Not good value for money at all in this respect.

Room Tip: ask for a room in a quiet end of the building

Second time we've stayed in a Premier Inn. Have found them a cut above other budget style chains. Very, very friendly & helpful professional staff, good clean rooms with simple heating & air con. Comfy beds. Enjoyed the all you can eat breakfast @ £8- a rival to holiday inns buffet. Check out is not till 12 which is good. Yes, it's not an exciting choice but they are very consumer orientated & put the effort in, I'd recommend. This one is 5 -10 mins walk from the centre & has discounted parking nearby

Even though we were in the centre of Manchester, the silence was golden. At midnight, there were still many people outside but you could not hear them. It was like being in another world. From arrival to departure, nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. They dealt with each guest as an indivdual whether you was 5, 45, or 95. The rooms were very clean and welcoming and the facilities in each room were more than enogh to satisfy any one's needs. It was also good to know that there was always someone on the end of the phone should an emergency arise.

Clean and practical room with a very comfy bed.
Welcoming staff and easy check in
However I have stayed here twice, both on a sunday night, and both times I have been woken up by people shouting in the coridoors well after midnight - a little unnerving when you are on your own and annoying when you have to get up in the morning!
Cant complain too much when the rooms are £29!

We stayed at the Premier Inn, Portland Street back in January for 1 night on a cheap deal as we decided to see We Will Rock You in Manchester. Staff were friendly and as with many hotels. a card system is used as a room key and to let you in after a certain time in the evening. Room was clean and tidy. It had both bath and shower, and body wash/shampoo in the bathroom so if you forget it don't worry. There is a hair dryer in the room. Wardrobe space is limited, but as we only stayed one night it was adequate. We did not have breakfast in the hotel but in the nearby Debenham's in town. I found the bed to be a little uncomfortable to be honest. There is an option to leave luggage if you decide not to want to leave town straight after check-out time of 12pm. Check in time is 2pm but we arrived a little earlier. However our room was ready for us at no extra cost.
All in all, we're hoping to return later in the year. Hopefully I'll get a better night's sleep. Other than that, no real complaints.

Room Tip: Book early

Very quiet, clean and good value for money base to stay for a trip to the theatre. We went to visit Ghost the Musical at the Manchester Opera house which was about a 10 minute easy walk. Very secure (Card operated lifts), well maintained and incredibly helpful staff. We received a warm welcome.
