Lovely period boutique hotel just at the back of Corrie!
Beautiful room, nice staff and handy for shops, shows, restaurants and arena.
Breakfast was only £16 which is not bad for a good hotel. We had to go early but the visitors book comments were very complimentary about the Irish breakfast.
A bunch of us all arrived back from a concert at the same time, but getting drinks and coffee was no problem at all, even at 11.30pm.
Lovely rooftop terrace when it is sunny complete with hot tub.

A definite for next time

Room Tip: From the front you can see the Corrie actors entering and a view of the set.

This hotel is OK if you pay a reasonable amount of money to stay here, I booked 2 nights at a cost greater than a five star hotel in London which was ridiculous, It didnt even include breakfast.
The room was on 2 floor so, although, they make a great play about the room size it doesnt seem v big.
There is a small TV. Our shower gel tube wasnt even full, there is no shower caps or many complementary toiletries. We got into our room at 3pm which is very late and its only a small hotel.
The food at the bar was also expensive.,

If you got a room here for about £80 fair enough but at £250 without breakfast , it doesnt live to its billing

Thank you for your feedback. Your stay coincided with the Conservative Party conference hosted in Manchester and our room rates were in line with all other city centre hotels during that period. We do guarantee check in at 3pm but can often provide earlier access if we have a room available though as we allow a later check out time than most hotels, this is not always possible. For the benefit of future guests, we provide the square footage of each room type on our website.

We took my mother in law on her birthday for afternoon tea. The lounge has a great feel with really comfortable sofas, the decor is unique and perfect for a boutique hotel. The food was great and the staff really looked after us.

(Tip: please book direct with the hotel. We made the mistake of going via Lastminute.com and paid £30 extra).

We stayed in a boudoir room with a free standing bath and wet room style shower on the mezzanine. The room and hotel is very stylish with attentive service. The little touches showed class from the fresh milk in the fridge, the stacked hand towels in the ladies and the school house boys and girls staircases. The public rooms are comfortable with a great roof terrace.

The breakfast is well worth paying for with a small but interesting continental buffet and a wide choice of perfectly cooked hot dishes.

tehre is a good range of cocktails in the bar but a surprisingly limited range of malt whisky.

The wi-fi did not extend to our room but we could have asked for a password for the premium (charged) service. I agree with the previous poster that a hotel of this class (and cost) should provide reliable fast free wifi.

I have just returned from a night at this hotel and all I could say during our stay was 'WOW'. Everywhere you look there is unique touches to this hotel, everything from the staff to the music is perfect. The bedroom we stayed in was the Baby grand room and with its high ceilings, stunning furniture & personal touches made this by far the best place I have ever stayed. The staff couldn't do enough to assist us, but were at no point intrusive. The rooftop is a fantastic space, overlooking Granada studios. With the bonus of a hot tub, free for any guest to use whilst no private function is on.
All in all my husband and I have completely fallen in love with this place and will be returning again & again!!

Without a doubt, the best place to stay in Manchester. Staff are great, rooms are amazing, food is fantastic, and if you are visiting Manchester for a holiday then the location is superb. My only grief with this place is the WIFI is dire, they charge ten quid to get premium WIFI (the free WIFI is less than useless) and even that is rubbish. Come on guys, we all expect decent WIFI included these days. Apart from that, I wouldn't recommend anywhere else better to stay in the city centre.

I booked this venue to celebrate mine & my sisters 40th birthday along with 18 guests.
We were greeted by the friendly staff who couldn't do enough for us, always asking if everything was ok.
We were seated in the rooftop lounge, where they had arranged the tables/seating comfortably.
The staff waited for all of our guests to arrive before serving our afternoon tea.
The sandwiches/cakes arrived, beautifully presented and all freshly made.
We all had a fabulous time, it was so relaxed and everything was just as we had wanted.
We even got sit on the roof top when the sun came which ended our evening on a high!

Thank you to all the staff at Great John Street for your first class service, I will and have recommended your hotel to family and friends and I will be returning soon.
