“Great restaurant at a good price”
Reviewed August 6, 2014

Ate here on Saturday night, food was excellent staff were good and prices very reasonable, a bit surprised how quiet it was. I have lived for over 5 years in Italy and found the food very authentic.

I was great having Italian waiters and owners so I could use my rusty Italian once again.

“Wonderful find”
Reviewed August 3, 2014

Stumbled across Al Bacio whilst looking for somewhere to dine on a Saturday evening, it was half empty so we had no problem getting a table. Why it wasn't busier I do not know as the food was excellent and the staff very attentive and helpful, we dined on pizzas and pasta which everybody agreed where some of the best we'd had anywhere, rounded off with a very acceptable bottle of house red. Will be making a return visit.

“Quiet Thursday”
Reviewed July 24, 2014

I was expecting a packed restaurant following the multiple reviews, but the place was empty, we occupied the second table and only 2 more filled by the time we left.
Thought it was rather overpriced - should have been wary the moment I saw bread and butter on the menu as a starter!
Lasagne was heavy, floury and lacked enough cheese. The penne bolognese was OK. The grilled chicken was spoilt with some sweet basaltic. The tagliatele forester was very good. The burrata was not the freshest but not too bad.
Tiramisu was so-so but the fudge cake was great.
Thought it was rather overpriced for what it was.

“Saturday Night not alright!”
Reviewed July 21, 2014

We family 4 went on Sat 19th and our experience mirrors another review in as much as it appeared that something was wrong with the kitchen staff. Our meal was late, wrong orders appeared and then two came cold as they had been on the top for too long. When they did come or were heated up they were fine(not brilliant) but the whole experience was a shame as we had been here before and experienced exactly the opposite kind of service
Staff were very apologetic but it does colour our judgement when it all goes wrong. It felt as if we were part of a farce!

“Fabulous venue for a business meeting or a catch up with friends....”
Reviewed July 18, 2014

I first came to this lovely hidden gem for a meeting, having eaten at lots of venues around the city for years the thing I love most is the quirkiness and tradition, so much so you feel like your on holiday, it is not pretending to be anything it isn't there are plenty of places to choose in Manchester to pose in and get served very average food at high prices so why do they need to jump on that band wagon??

One of our table was vegi and she was very impressed that there was such a wide variety of choice (again unusual in some venues) the service is warm and friendly and most of all ITALIAN how refreshing in a Italian Restaurant. The food is declicious the only problem was deciding what to have..... I will return.
