“New restaurant worth a visit”
Reviewed September 29, 2013

Manchester has perhaps too many Italian restaurants. This one has just opened and I have to say that the food was very good and was authentic Italian. I hope they can keep it up as it is next door to a Pizza Express and the street is a little dark. The staff were very friendly and attentive.

“Just opened off Deansgate Manchester - previously San Rocco”
Reviewed September 29, 2013

Excellent: Like many Italian restaurants cleverly provides for all pockets. Pizza and Pasta dishes £7/8 pounds up to duck/pork/fillet steak dishes £17/20. Good wine list £16/50 or if you really want to push the boat out Champagne c£400 (although you can buy champagne at £22) Wine is alsoavailable by the glass. I'm all in favour of less formal and less pretentious eating environments but do enjoy crisp linen and sparkling glasses especially, as here accompanied by friendly and smiling staff.

I enjoyed butterflied King Prawns with mushrooms in a creamy sauce as a starter. Doesn't sound anything out of the ordinary but the prawns were cooked to perfection crunchy to the bite but so often overcooked.; a tinge of saltiness but I'm probably oversensitive to salt since I never add salt preferring to compensate with other seasoning. My main course of pork medallions in a creamy mushroom sauce was perfect as was my wife's chicken liver starter and duck a l'orange - or whatever the Italian name for it was. We chose a Chianti Classicco Reserva Il Brunone 2007 which was velvety with smooth tannins and reasonably priced.

Ideal venue if shopping in central Manchester and worth a trip in in the evening
