Stayed here twice now, the beds are amazingly comfortable and the staff are friendly.

Breakfast was great and I cannot recommend this place highly enough. They don't rip you off like some other Mcr hotels and have pitched themselves just right. Room service is also reasonably priced.

Cannot fault it at all.

I stayed in this hotel for one night, it was OK, but not great.

Pros:
*excellent city centre location at the top of Princess Street, just behind the Town Hall (which is looking lovely with the Christmas lights and market)
* good comfortable bed
* windows that open
* reasonable bar and room services prices, particularly considering the central location

Not so good:
* Wifi is too expensive
* room was oddly arranged - not enough surfaces, particularly in the shower-room, and the TV was at an awkward angle from the bed
* but worst of all was really, really loud aircon noise (even when the aircon was turned off). Reading other reviews, I think this is a bit of pot luck about which room you get. I was on the top floor at the front of the hotel, with aircon outlets just outside, and it was annoying.

Would I stay here again? It was far from terrible, so it wouldn't be the end of the world, but I think I'll give somewhere else a try next time I'm in Manchester.

I spent 2 nights in the Arora Hotel at the end of October and had a great experience staying there.

STAFF:

We arrived on an early flight from Dublin and were hoping to just drop off our bags in the hotel as it was 9am and go off exploring. The hotel reception staff had our room ready for us and were able to give us tips on places we wanted to explore. I was very impressed with their local knowledge and very friendly approachable behaviour throughout our stay.

LOCATION:

The hotel is in a great location just on the edge of Chinatown. All the shopping near the central square is less than 10 minutes walk, the bars of canal street are only 5 minutes walk and the bus to Old Trafford & the Trafford Centre is only 1 minute walk away.

ROOMS:

We got a great deal and didn't expect the rooms to be fantastic but we were pleasantly surprised. Our twin room comprised of 2 large double beds. Very comfy! The room was quite large, very modern and the bathroom was just like the pictures posted on the website.

Overall Manchester is a great city to visit. Plenty of good bars and restaurants. I recommend Lamars, Blu Blu & bars around canal street. Lamars have a lovely restaurant to the side of the main bar and was very reasonable. Saturday nights get very busy so go out early to the trendy bars or you'll end up queueing! Can't wait to go again in the New Year!

Good location close to chinatown and walking distance from Deansgate and the shops.

The staff were lovely and probably the friendliest I've ever encountered. We were put into one of the Cliff Richard themed rooms.....turns out that the bachelor boy part-owns the hotel. We suspended our disbelief and got used to posters of Cliff in Summer Holiday gazing at us from the walls. At least we weren't in a room themed "Devil Woman" or "Wired for sound"!!

You can tell that the hotel is new, and the standard of housekeeping was great. Bathrooms were modern and immaculate. Somebody had clearly spent time thinking about how to make the hotel comfortable and guest friendly.

The icing on the cake was the hotel's bar, Obsidian, which is also open to the public. The hotel's literature tells you that it's a 'must visit' in Manchester, which tends to make one sceptical, but whilst I wouldn't describe it quite so glowingly it was a lovely, sophisticated bar with great staff and a surprisingly good crowd for late on a Tuesday night.

I'd stay here again.

stayed for 2 nights over halloween weekend. booked their early bird 70 pound a night for room with 2 double beds - excellent value. the room was spacious as well as the 2 double beds there was a seated area. the bathroom was big and bright with a power shower and bath. there were lots of little extras which made the difference unstocked fridge for your own use, free safe, heated towel rail , air conditioning that works properly!!! did not eat in restaurant looked nice but expensive. Location is fantastic lots of good restaurants and cafes nearby as well as a tesco and a tram stiop around the corner. the only downside (small one) is the fact the bar does not do draught beer .
overall excellent hotel great value cant go wrong here!!

Got a great deal on Expedia for 3 nights so worked out very good value. Room was spacious and very clean. Good range of channels on TV. Front of house staff very helpful and polite. Bar staff excellent. Only had breakfast once in the hotel, got better value and freshly cooked food at a cafe down the road. Very good location for shops, eating, Canal Street. Found the hotel very quiet and relaxing. Especially liked the fact that you had to use your room card to access the lift and that the fridge was not stocked up so could pop to Tescos/Sainsburys for water etc. Would stay again.
