Tried this restaurant for Sunday dinner based upon the reviews. Overwhelming menu selection but really great food. I don't think you could go wrong with any of the choices. Everything we had was delicious. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. Its located in small parade of shops in residential area. Its about 10-15 mins by car from the centre of Manchester (approx £10 taxi) but you could also take a train. Lots of Asian families many with small children. They serve alcohol.

If you're in the market for an authentic, delicious, meat-free Indian meal then this restaurant will not let you down. We were staying in Manchester for Easter weekend and reached the restaurant in the suburbs by travelling to Mauldeth Rd station which was a 7min journey from Piccadilly, costing 95p per person return! The restaurant is a further 3-4 min walk from the station in a residential area.

We began with the a couple of masala poppadoms which were served with tasty addition of fresh cucumber, tomato and onion plus delicious pickles and chutneys.

Next was the amazing Chaat Platter for two to share comprising a lovely trio of delights. Spicy, fresh, zingy, fruity, firey all at the same time.

Our main courses were also shared and the proprietor actively helped recommend a balance of dishes that we could share. These included a paneer dish (paneer makhani) that had a strong latent heat; mushrooms palak that was deep in flavour, full of onion also with chilli-heat. And finally a dhal makhani of smoked black lentils and cream, again full flavoured. We opted for a vegetable pilau rice which was also perfectly spiced and laced with chick peas and other vegetables. Customers can opt for a low, medium or hot chilli-heat for most/all dishes.

Finally before the bill arrived we were presented with a tray of Indian sweets including fennel seeds coated in a variety of flavoured-sugar and other digestif varieties.

This full, flavoursome and wholesome meal for two including two pints of Kingfisher, came to £36, so very good value for the amazing experience.

The waiter was a gent, happy to talk about Indian food and advise us. We were very well looked after. We had a thali and it was wonderful. This is a good option for a first visit as there are lots of different taste experiences. When I go back I'm trying the dosa because they looked totally authentic and its hard to find a really good dosa in Manchester. The sev tomato curry was amazing. This is Indian cuisine of quality and a high standard. The food from Gujarat has it's own flavours and is often spicy/sweet with slightly different spice blends and they do it very well here. Its so worth trying something new that's not just meat in a ready made sauce. Your taste buds will thank you. Well done Sanskruti, this is the most authentic Indian I've been to in the UK.

I'm a fussy Indian diner - I like my food to be just right in terms of originality, taste, texture, consistency, spices, presentation and appeal. And also value for money.

I'm happy to say that Sanskruti ticked all my preferences. Arguably, the best INDIAN restaurant in Manchester.

We really enjoyed our meal at the Sanskruti which was packed out particularly with Indian diners, a recommendation in itself. The menu is huge which can be a bit overwhelming but we all chose different dishes and everything we ate was delicious. Only minor point being that the temperature of the food could have been hotter. Service was warm and friendly. We will definitely go back.
