This is so my kind of place - a quirky boho bar in one of the coolest parts of the Northern Quarter that has an outrageously extensive selection of English and continental beers (mainly the latter), including its own IPA, and offers a great range of informal food, including some very tasty home-made beef burgers.
The place has a relaxed, independently minded feel about it and the staff are really friendly and pleasant. The kind of place you feel at home in if you like your drinking holes to be quietly cool and self assured rather than slick and sassy. If this place was a newspaper, it would be The Independent.
Typical crowd is trendy (but not pretentious) creative types enjoying a quiet drink. Music is cool too – and not overly loud, but definitely not ambient.
The perfect place to go for a sociable drink with your mates. It’s not a beauty to look at from the outside – almost non-descript, but it’s nicely kitted out with a mix of odd furniture and tables. Shabby urban chic. Very popular with locals, which is a pretty darn good endorsement.
Lovely website and I like the amusing tone of its food menu. Common by name, edgy by nature.
