Visited restaurant as party of 15 at 7pm on Sat 8 Feb. None of us had been to restaurant before. Party was located upstairs in area where lighting was not working so was difficult to read menus. Asked waitress to try and resolve lighting issue on a number of occasions but it was obviously a problem with wiring. Was not very busy at time we were there and we had very lengthy wait for drinks before and during meal and also the meal itself. Kids drinks of diet coke were flat. Food was reasonable but some of the party thought it wasn't a very good standard for the price we were paying and also the kids meals arrived after everyone else's so when my young daughter got hers she was too tired to eat. Waitress tried her best to serve us but she wasn't getting any assistance from the rest of the team and this was put down to 'staffing issues'. Complained to who we thought was manager but in fact it was the owner and his reaction was unbelievable - he was quite obnoxious and didn't seem bothered by the fact that we were unhappy with the service. The children in our party had been friendly with the people on bar downstairs and the owner said that we should 'look after our own children'. He finally offered to take 70 pounds off bill but it still was a bitter experience to still pay £300 for a very disappointing meal. I am astounded at the complete lack of service especially with this restaurant being located in Didsbury with so much other competition on their doorstep. We will definitely NOT return to this restaurant.

Having tried this place out with some Italian friends when it first opened and not being that impressed then we thought that we would give it another go for a coffee and dessert the other night as we had actually dined at a local thai restaurant, been to the cinema and just fancied something sweet.

Firstly upon entering the restaurant you could see that the staff were in a mess. There was nobody to meet and greet us just one barman (with long sideburns) that kept waving us over from behind the bar as he couldn't be bothered to come to us.
We explained that we just wanted a special coffee and a dessert to share.
He sat us down and it took him a good while to bring over any menus.

In the meantime I observed the 4 people sat next to us complaining that they hadn't received any food yet.....they appeared to have had plenty to drink though and were contemplating leaving the table to go and get fish & chips.....
There was a couple on the next table, he was wearing an Adidas tracksuit zipped up to the top and then there was a table of about half a dozen 16 year olds.....so not so busy.

We ordered 2 special coffees and a chocolate cake.
I could see the barman pouring the amaretto and then he made the coffee. He then left the coffee whilst he was distracted by a lady at the bar who was showing him something on her mobile phone for around 10 minutes.....the distraction cost us what should have been hot coffee and explains why there was a mountain of dirty glasses piled up on the bar top.
The young waitresses didn't bring any cutlery and as the barman could see that we had finished our coffees and not received our cake he went to chase the dessert.
When it arrived it resembled a pre bought defrosted chocolate cake and was very artificial in flavour.

We had to go up to the desk to pay as we couldn't get anybody's attention.
Nobody asked if we were ok, nobody really cared to be honest.

Unfortunately like many places in the area this is below par.
There is nothing authentically italian about this place, my advice is to give it a miss unless you are looking for the type of quality which you would find in a high street chain branch.
