This is a really lovely old style theatre just off Deansgate and an approx 20 minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly.
Filled with lots of character and original details but at the same time very well maintained.
The main entrance is a little small especially if you arrive with everyone else and they are milling around.
We went to see Peppa Pigs Big Splash with our young daughter ( which was very good) and what I did like for this age group was that they had a big pile of booster seats at the back which you could help yourselves too ..genius .

Although named The Opera House it hosts a great variety of acts and shows from Aida to Priscilla Queen of the Desert, 9-5 to Pantomimes.Although the interior is quite old & yes, you have to queue for the toilets (did the Victorians drink less before the shows?) it is superb. As a student we sat in the dizzying hights of "the Gods" but now that I don't need to climb the stairs I prefer the stalls.Become a member & you get deals & discounts.A great place & always buzzing with all age groups.

Located on Quay street, just off Deansgate, the opera house offers a fantastically historic venue for all productions be it opera, theatre or comedy. I I frequented many times and always enjoyed the performances.

The venue is tired in places due to its age and there are some viewing issues from some seats. However the decor and history of the venue more than makes up for it.

I'm spurt he opera house will continue to welcome top acts in the future as Manchester continues to be the sister location to the West End.

The opera house has very comfy stalls and good views, enjoyed the opening of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels there which was awesome.

Ticketing is an expensive ball ache though. ATG has a shocking user experience and we have in the past abandoned several £1000's of sales due to online and ticket office experiences.

Top advice get another Mug (friend) to buy the seats for you.

What a wonderful joyful first night show in a beautiful old theatre. The title role was perfectly cast and Emma Williams gave a marvellous performance, she sparkled throughout. Jason Donovan understood his character so entirely and gave a thoroughly rounded Frank Butler and the onstage chemistry between Annie and Frank was sizzling. All the supporting cast were excellent and the brilliant orchestra being on stage was a delight. Go get tour tickets I'm glad I did!
