“Excellent customer service!”

Excellent customer service from Benn. He arranged an Champagne Afternoon Tea voucher for a dear friends 70th Birthday for us, from the other side of the world. That's what I call going the extra mile and outstanding customer service. Wish I could be there to experience the delicious sounding food!
Thank you Benn and the team at Annie's

“A let down”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2013

I read about this place on websites reviewing cream teas which we have for a treat occasionally. The Coronation St link had nothing to do with the visit. As we went in it was dark and dingy with different coloured arm chairs perhaps trying to give it a parlour look- not successful sorry. My husband who rarely comments on decor asked me what this place was trying to be. The area around the cheap looking bar has blank walls with a few of these uncomfortable arm chairs strewn around the room. It was also virtually empty in the afternoon when outside the streets and other eateries were buzzing with people. The young staff were really nice and the cream tea was just ok. The reviews rave about the tea strainers- why? The sandwiches were fine as we had asked for fish and vegetarian- a couple had dry bread sadly. The scone was also dry. All in all it felt like having a cream tea in a soulless place with no identifiable character. We won't be returning as there are too many other interesting and atmospheric places to eat in Manchester.

“ANNIES 'WHAT A LET DOWN'”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2013

I have been a regular visitor to Annies with family and friends since it opened last December and have always raved about it and have reccommened it to everyone i meet. On 2 recent visits the last visit being last week with a couple of friends who hadn't been before i have noticed a steady decline in the quality of food and presentation and have to say on reading a couple of other reviews have also found on my last couple of visits that some of our food didn't appear 'Fresh' and more like Aunt Bessies!!!!.

The whole atmosphere seems to lack luster and is definitely below parr, on asking a member of staff why the food has changed i was told 'quietly' that Richard the Head Chef had left for pastures new at the end of July and that Annies had new team of chefs.

WHAT A CRYING SHAME............................... Im sorry to say we will not be returning to Annies

“Fabulous hidden gem of a restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2013

Went as a group of girls for my mother-in-laws birthday for afternoon tea. Fabulous little restaurant. We ate downstairs, the food was delicious and they even brought us out more sandwiches. The cakes were lovely as were the scones with lashings of fresh cream and jam. Again when asked they brought out more tea for us at no extra cost.

Jenny McAlpine who owns the restaurant also came down to see us and was concerned about whether or not we had enjoyed ourselves and if everything was okay. She then quite happily posed for photographs with us all. Nothing was too much trouble for her. She is a lovely person.

Would highly recommend.
