“How disappointing!”
Reviewed June 13, 2013

I was met with such a lovely mele of well turned out staff and in such comfortable surroundings we as mystery shoppers from various hospitality marques took to the streets of Manchester to check out with an open wallet just how we would be viewed by some of the most prestigious little spots! Now there were 7 of us in total all armed of course with our customary cameras. We went downstairs and sampled all the cocktails totaling £64.50. Yes! We were purposely quite lively and even got a photo with Jenny the owner. Then it pretty well went downhill from there. One of our party were asked to be more quiet in fact Jenny suggested a sponsored silence which we found quite inhospitable. We then noticed there were no door staff which could only mean one thing. Had we been informed that our behaviour was out of sync with the expectations of lounge living then this should have been made clear before the drinks order (1 round). So beware..It's a library not a lounge! Bring a book and be quiet when you turn the page! Venue great Management style shocking

“Fantastic meal”
Reviewed June 10, 2013

Had our first visit on Saturday night, I couldn't fault a thing. The place is tastefully decorated, the staff were extremely attentive, nothing was to much trouble. The menu caters for everyone and our food was lovely, well worth a visit, I would highly recommend Annie's keep up the good work.

“Good English cooking in a lovely setting”
Reviewed June 10, 2013

Went there for lunch with an old friend yesterday and, although the lunchtime menu is rather limited, what they do serve is excellent quality and both the staff and surroundings create a wonderful atmosphere. Restaurants serving English food are something of a rarity in these parts and they certainly do it well.

We both had the delicious potted ham hock for starters, followed by chicken and black pudding pie for her and three cheese pie for me - which left us both very impressed and far too full for afters! I really enjoyed it and would like to go back in the evening to sample the wider dinner menu.

Jennie (aka Corrie's Fiz) was in residence and made a point of going round to each table for a chat, which was a lovely gesture and seemed to provide a real thrill for some of the more elderly clientele.
