Review of The City Arms Pub

The City Arms Pub
Ranked #215 of 2,436 Restaurants in Manchester
Certificate of Excellence
Description: The best real ale house in Manchester. We have 8 ever changing ales on everyday, we have a great range of whiskies, we have a huge gin selection. Always a warm and happy reception. We have a covered / heated smoking area. We have a darts board for any budding players. Simply a great pub in the heart of a great city.

Traditional city centre pub which is quite hidden away. Good range of well kept beers. Good atmosphere. It's a simple recipe but one which is often lacking in modern pubs.

Quaint old fashioned bar serving a good range of real ales - friendly staff. It features in the Camra good beer guide and for good reason. The pub is hidden away but well worth finding. Go and enjoy. There are other pubs around but we haven't tried them.

A typical Manchester Pub with a great choice of real ales. The pub has great character and has won Camra awards so you know the beer is good. Bar staff are top notch and the ambience is warm and welcoming. If you're happy to pay for good beer at a reasonable price in a friendly atmosphere rather than shelling out a fiver for Peroni in a brass and chrome former bank you're in the right place.

Been in here a couple of times and love the atmosphere. Never eaten here just drinks. Good mix of clientele. Seating at the front - around 10 seats. Back room more seating. Bug bare - TV up on wall near dart board on silent and not needed. This is a pub to talk and drink. Landlord take note! Despite that love it.
