“amazing night”

Saw the amazing Maysa last Sat. It was our first visit to this venue and we found it professional, polite, clean and a fabulous intimate atmosphere. The whole evening was well timed and relaxed allowing you to soak up a fab support act in Honey Larochelle and the beautiful powerful voice of Maysa. We're not from Manchester, but this destination is high on our list for a return visit.

“Band On The Wall is no Wall Flower!”
Reviewed May 25, 2013

This is a great venue if you like Jazz, Funk and Soul and last night was no exception, we went to see 'The Lee Thompson Ska Orchestra', the band was tight, fun to watch and the sound was good. Since its re-vamp, the BOW is, in my view a better place to see bands, it has a more intermate space and the artists are more up close and personal, you can view from the balcony or just dance your heart out on the dance floor. It has a decent selection of beers (better than most music venues). The BOW also has a good atmosphere attracting wide range of age groups. On a more personal note, the facilities are clean and there are plenty of toilets for ladies not just the odd one in a dodgy basement!

“Excellent Night Out with King Creosote at BotW”
Reviewed May 4, 2013

You never discover anything in an arena or a large concert venue, however there is always something to discover in a small venue like Band on the Wall. I took my daughter with me who is a keen musician and we both thoroughly enjoyed our night out at Band on the Wall. The sound system is great and the clarity is first class. I'd heard some of King Creosote (Kenny Anderson) before but had never seen him live previously. He certainly had a very good rapport with the audience and it was great to see someone who hails from the same part of Fife as I do getting such a warm response from the Manchester crowd. Very entertaining and a great venue to see a live act.

As for some of the previous comments about the staff at BotW, I am surprised as I've been to the venue many times and have always had a very good night with no issues. I do know that a number of the people working at BotW are also musicians, some trying to pursue a career in music which is incredibly difficult. As a result, giving a performer your attention at a gig shows respect for the artist and the audience. I have no idea what happened at the event in question but am sure that the management team at the venue will do their best to address.

“Keep coming back”
Reviewed April 27, 2013

I have been to The Band on the Wall many times, most recently to see the amazing Dead Belgian, who play the songs of Jacques Brel but with a twist. They were great, you must go see them if you love the music of Brel.

As far as the venue is concerned I have never found the staff anything but polite and helpful. The facilities are always clean and the food and drinks are well priced for a live music venue.

What I have experienced is people who talk all the way through a live show, which is extremely rude and inconsiderate, and then object when people ask them to be quiet!

Get yourself on the website and find a show to see and experience The Band on the Wall.
