I'm not sure what was better about our visit to the Manchester Craft and Design Centre - the incredible array of original craft OR the stunning building in which these boutiques are housed. We met many makers. The spaces were often split between studio space and space for exhibiting their wares. The displays were creative and original. There was a very wide range of talents on show though perhaps a slight over emphasis on jewellery. The pricing varied - there is something for everyone. We really liked the feel of this place, the lovely work, the independent energy and the creative buzz. Oh and there's a fab looking cafe - but we didn't stop.
