I went to Umezushi for the umteenth time last night, i live 25 metres away so end up there more often than is normal, and realised I'd never reviewed the place.
The food was, as always, faultless, service was friendly and efficient, the decor is simple and I love the bench seating. Having to wait for the chefs to prepare the food is surely a good thing, having to pay the price to have the finest freshest fish ishouldn't be a problem. There are enough conveyor belt places if you want cheap(ish), bland fish and overpoweringly flavoured sauces to scoff at 100 miles an hour.
I ate at Umezushi in its opening week and was amazed how good it was and it's still delivering the same quality now.
