Description: The Blue Pig, an illustrious drinking hole situated right in the heart of Manchester's fabulous Northern Quarter, has gone through a transformation in the autumn of 2014. Carefully crafted cocktails are a speciality, featuring many of the well known (and lesser known) spirits that cram its shelves behind the bar; from fine aged exotic rums & unusual small batch gins to flavour filled vodkas, single malt whiskies, sippers, snifters & digestifs... Craft beers have a big part to play in its revelling repertoire as do some fantastic local real ales. The Pig's signature burgers and roasts are rated as some of the best in Manchester, and sharing boards & specials guarantee there is something for every food lover. Evenings and weekends are hosted by some of Manchester's finest DJs, featuring Northern Quarter favourites So Flute and Lee Majors plus special guests. Keep an eye out for details...

“Great place!”
Reviewed April 28, 2013

I have followed the blue pig on facebook for some time but never been until yesterday when we went for lunch, the restaurant is nicely decorated and the staff very friendly.

The menu is well balanced with Deli items mixed with items from the kitchen.
I ordered the courgette and smoked cheddar risotto which was very tasty but not quite enough of it, for £12.95 I would have expected more than a starter portion.
This said I will definitely visit again

“Good venue for day time eating”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

Menu a bit limited for evening eating but sharing platters great for lunch with good wines. Reasonably priced and great place to watch the world go by in Manchester's Northern Quarter (Manchester's Le Marais) Especially if the sun's out!

“The Blue Pig”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

We went here with the intention of having dinner as my boyfriend had enjoyed a lunch here. The menu was very limited and not particularly interesting so we just had a drink and moved onto somewhere else for dinner. The restaurant is really nicely done out and the staff very friendly, it just seems like somewhere more suited to daytime dining.

“lovely bar & deli”
Reviewed April 6, 2013

This was a lovely bar/restaurant. The deli food was delicious but the size of the main dishes were a bit questionable!

“good atmosphere but average”
Reviewed April 5, 2013

Just walked into that place because it looked smart and different - what we found was a deli cafe with a decent bar..
We ordered a shared platter (vegeterian) , 3 beers , 1 coffee, 1 dessert and paid 32 pounds which isn't really cheap.
Platter was interesting. My husband found it great but it wasn't for me.
It is nicely decorated and deli choices are seems to be interesting but that's all. Lemongrass brulee was delicious though !
