“Great day out”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 17, 2012

I have lived in South Manchester all my life and it took an invitation from a friend staying in the city centre to bring me back here after so many years. What a difference. We walked along the canal in the sunshine and visited Spinneyfields and Castlefield ending up at the Wharf for a wonderful tradtional Sunday roast. The place is very welcoming and the menu extensive. Try it, you will not be disappointed.

“Tasty”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2012 via mobile

The Wharf had really lovely food, especially the roasts. It was also an impressive building with nice interiors. At a very Handy location, at a handy junction of the canals, a few yards from.deansgate. very charming and witty staff. Huge menu with a great selection of mains and desserts. Huge place with plenty of tables.

“Great pub”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2012

The food here is always excellent, as is the food and the drink. A really relaxing pub with great decor and beautiful views. Perfect for groups of friends, visiting parents or just a quiet drink. The tea and coffee is served beautifully enough even for the most discerning of mother-in-laws! Will be returning frequently.

“impromptu visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2012

we called at the wharf for a celebration meal and were extremely impressed with the service and standard of the food which was beautifully presented. i can certainly recommend the sea bass which was cooked to perfection. Just wish i had room for the cheese board which looked delicious. The bill came to 60 pounds for two and included 2 drinks each and a starter. good value and will be paying another visit very soon

“Variable Service and Food Temperature”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2012

Great venue that has been resurrected from the previous Jackson's Wharf. I've eaten several times over the last few months since having the place recommended by friends. Comfy chairs downstairs, no loud music and plenty of space. Oddly no toilets downstairs so avoid if stairs are a problem (they may have a lift... I've not seen one).
The chairs are quite low compared to the tables... can be a touch uncomfortable for a shorter stature person who is eating but fine for drinking. Having some extra seat cushions could easily solve.

Well stocked bar benefiting from some proper beers, decent range of wines and the staff able to mix drinks properly. Food menu is the same throughout (gastro style), however upstairs is waited service, downstairs you order at the bar. I've eaten in both. Details available in their website.

Visited one Saturday for lunch and the venue was running under 50% capacity. The starters arrived promptly as did the drinks. Everything off to a good start. The main course took 50 minutes to arrive. I chased and staff apologised for the delay. Main course on arrival was well prepared / presented however it some food was warm, not hot causing us to rush eating it before it went cold. Another delay to get the table cleared then desert.

I've had this experience here before although not every time. Some attention to food temperature and service is needed.

This is a fairly new business, I will be returning and look forward to continued improvement.
