I am a massive oasis fan so any tour that takes me to site related to the band was going to be good. But the tour guide (Craig) is fantastic and made it so much better then I expected it to be.
Craig is a veteran of the Manchester music scene so you couldn't get anyone better to take you around the city on any of his tours. If in Manchester and you love Manchester bands then U MUST ORGANIZE A TOUR!!!

On a wet Saturday morning Craig drove us to all the important places for Manchester music buffs. Even in the rain Craig proved to be a great guide, even getting us into the Salford lads club. His knowledge of the scene is first class. We loved the visit to sifters music store. Can't recommend this tour highly enough.

I booked this tour as a silver wedding present for my husband, as it coincided with us visiting Manchester, for Morrisseys gig on the same day.
We travelled on a vintage open top double decker bus, & were treated to visiting some wonderful places, such as the Holy Name church, The Iron Bridge, The Cemetery Gates, Strangeways, Morrisseys childhood home (Where it all began...) and a fab visit to Salford Lads Club (Including a tour round The Smiths room, & having our pics taken on the steps outside the club!!).
At each place we were allowed to roam around, take in the sights, take lots of pics, and the guides, Glenn, Mike & Elspeth, were so knowledgable about the music scene, it was fab to chat with like minded people, who were as enthusiastic as we all were! We wer'nt rushed at all, we only moved on to the next stop on the tour, when everybody was fully satisfied with taking photos etc, everyone got on so well, it was such a laugh! The only downside was getting off the bus after the tour, & saying goodbye to lots of fantastic people!
Would highly recommend Manchester Music Tours to any fan of the Manchester music scene, you will NOT be disappointed!

We came up to Manchester for the Stone Roses gig in July. We were quite demanding as one of us wanted to see Craig's Oasis and Joy Division tour, another one of our party was a big Smiths fan, and we all wanted to see Stone Roses places.

Craig was absolutely brilliant and made us a custom-built combined tour for a fantastic price. Although he was run off his feet that weekend, he managed to make every memory sound fresh and was really obliging. What's great about a tour with Craig is that he was really on the scene of Madchester and gives a great (and often funny) insight into the stories behind the bands' legends and songs.

Also, although he was there at the time (and Noel Gallagher was even their roadie), Craig has remained really modest about his time involved with so many top Manchester bands. He has an appreciation of what luck he was to be in the Inspiral Carpets around the time of the heyday of the Hacienda, Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, The Smiths and Oasis. He's a real music fan, and it was a fantastic tour. I'd also recommend his excellent insider's view book: http://www.empire-uk.com/MMT.html which gives you even more background info to the main Manchester-based bands and songs.

I've given him such a nice review as I'd really like to recommend http://www.manchestermusictours.com/ to anyone interested in Manchester-based bands. Craig and his partner do various specialised tours focussing on different bands.

This tour is fantastic for any Morrissey / Smiths fans it goes to all the relevant places in an open top double decker bus. All of the people running the tour and the guests were fantastic, it was such good fun and it was a pleasure to meet them all and have so many photos taken.
